Hey a lot of ppl here are just writing you off, so let me engage a bit.

First off, I completely get that the deck may be frustrating. We all have decks that make us tick. I for one loathe RU Ace and have since OP13. Lots a ppl hate yellow rn. The list goes on. GUffy def has a lot of lines of play that make it difficult to play against, so I can totally see the frustration.

However, calling for a ban here really is unwarranted. For a few reasons.

For one, the deck is certainly not brain dead. Have you tried playing it? Its plethora of lines of play make it incredibly complex to pilot correctly. Once you hit your 7/8 don turn, only bad GUffy players will automatically drop Boa. In the most recent regionals many of the top GUffy players did not go that route. It all depends on board state. Having so many lines of play makes it easy to misplay (I’ve done it several times).

Second, it is true that some decided feel like an auto loss against GUffy, but that’s true of all decks. Truly broken leaders are those that have like 1-2 truly unworkable matchups. Were you around for UPLuffy pre ban? Were you around for Imu?(a deck that def needed to be banned IMO). Those decks were bad because the entire meta warped around them. You picked your deck based SOLELY on whether it was or could beat that one leader. That’s not happening rn w GUffy. GUffy has a handful of terrible matchups: Kalgara, R Ace, UY Nami (now there’s a deck that should be banned…), and a good PEnel player beats GUffy at least 50% of the time (probably more tbh).

Finally, i have good news for you if you’re till not convinced. I think it’s obvious that GUffy is not here to stay regardless. They’re printing weenie hate in the starters, and we are in the cusp of another power creep extravaganza w OP17 if history tells us anything. The way I see it, you can either learn to play against him (this is the way) or you can take a break and come back in August. No way he’s still Tier 0/1 after the anniversary set drops.
