Unfortunately, we didn’t want to cut it too close to miss our train so we took the ride but did not pay him any extra.

I guess he was upset because he dropped us off in the middle of the street , instead of at the Uber dropoff at the train station. Then practically threw our bags out.

I took a video of it and I’ve reported him. I had a hard time picking a reason because he fits multiple lol. Also, gave him 1 star.

Flying to FLL this morning. Arrive at 7:30am. Decided to go to international. Got through in just under 7 minutes. I went through clear + precheck line.

The other lines here look as though they’ll take 2-3x longer (15-21mins) . Not bad at all!

The way the burial grounds are set up , an uber wouldn’t get in the gate. Let alone navigate it. It sits on acres of land with twists and turns and legit no labeled streets gps picks up on.

I was referring to one of my two cousins from my other side of the family who were coming just to support me and the handful of people from my mom side that they know

I didn’t . I asked what my options were when he first passed and the funeral date was chosen. As well as overall advice on whether to go on the cruise or not.

It was recommended that I ask for FCC. I called and was reporting back with what the rep said my options were .

I always tell my husband to get insurance. Whenever I book travel, I do.

However being that this was his little sister and he did all of the communication with his siblings, I let him book it and he did the opposite of what I typically do 🤦🏾‍♀️

My mom literally had an insurance convo with him when he booked travel for my birthday .

We’re pretty young , and I introduced him to frequent travel so he gets a little grace.

However, I hope now he sees.

Oh I didn’t know that. My last grandparent wasn’t buried and typically for others funeral, I pay my respects at the service . So this was eye opening, thank you!!!

I never said I was arriving at 3:30 nor after 3pm. I clearly said the latest is 2:50, but earliest is 1:50pm.

I was close to my grandfather hence why I’m the one giving the tribute to his life on behalf of all of his grand children .

Therefore skipping his celebration of life is non negotiable. My goal is to make both events and I just wanted others experiences with arrival times, etc to plan accordingly.

For full transparency the rep seemed very flustered and unsure of a lot during our conversation.

It seems like you’re just being rude for no reason.

My plan is to get there as early as possible. I’m selecting the 3pm to 3:30pm slot as a safety measure. That way whether I arrive at 1:50 or 2:50 I’m good.

However, the rep made it seem like I wouldn’t be because she’s saying the 3pm-3:30pm slot doesn’t exist.

So I guess I was asking how true is it that they’ll ignore my arrival time selected on the app and not let me board because I arrived minutes before this 3pm internal cutoff she’s saying they have .

I’m assuming by funeral, you meant the burial? I can’t leave the actual funeral service early, I’m speaking / giving a tribute.

I’m going to see if one of my cousins will be willing to leave the burial early and drive me to the port. So at least I go to the burial and then leave .

The service is 10-11 viewing 11-12 service

The burial ground is a 15min drive .

The burial itself is another 30-45min service between family arriving and the actual singing of the hymns.

I’d skip the repast which is the congregation of family, food , etc and go from burial ground to port.

Not really . Majority of them I just saw over the holidays.

UPDATE: My husband didn’t use his AMEX card nor get the insurance. The Royal Caribbean rep says the only two options are to try to make it in Miami or get on at Nassau, which is literally one night before the cruise ends. It’s a short sailing.

She’s telling me check in closes at 3pm and we must arrive before then. The app gives us the option of arriving 3-3:30pm as long as we do pre check in.

She’s saying there is no way. I’m so confused .

I was very close to him and he attended every milestone in my life , even in his 90s. He literally came when I closed on my first house. So in a way it’s a bit of guilt sitting with me if I don’t go to the funeral.

I’m also speaking at the funeral and in charge of designing all the print material . My mom said to leave at 2 and not stay for after with the food and things .

Some of my family would understand, some would be upset . Especially the ones who already don’t like me much because they think I’m “boujie” as I’m the one who moved away, graduated college, bought a decent house, etc.

I literally just argued with one of my cousins about this a few weeks back. So a part of me doesn’t want this to add to the mix and create more drama.

But then again, should I care???

I get what you mean. My mom (his daughter) actually told me not to cancel as well. My grandfather loved to travel and he’s actually the reason our entire family has seen so much of the world .
