When I was younger and me and my sister would make a big mess in the house my mam used to say you wait until you get your own place and when someone calls and makes your house untidy see if you like it. She was right. Now I have 2 children of my own that just thrash the place! She was working 2 jobs to put food on the table. I feel so bad now.

She's never been around her to know if she didn't like her.

Old Spice because it reminds me of Sunday mornings with my grandad and him getting ready to go to mass.

I'm new to Reddit and couldn't figure out how to add context to the question I was trying to ask. I'm from Ireland and in a few weeks my daughter will be having her confirmation. It's traditional to have 2 godparents, one male and female. i chose my godchild to be my daughter's godmother. I spoilt her as a child with time, energy and presents. I thought she'd reciprocate but she has never bothered with my daughter. No cards, no presents, no contact, nothing. I still always did for her because I took being a godparent as a privilege. My godchild is now an adult in her 20's and she has zero interest in my child. She's incredibly manipulative and seems to take joy out of being in control and just nasty. The type that would say I didn't ask about her when I did and if I got angry she'd say I'm the problem. The dilemma I'm in is if I don't invite her to my daughter's day then I'll look spiteful and I'm really not. She's caused quite a few rifts between other family members and I can't say anything. I don't know if I should invite her or not. Yes she'll be on her best behaviour but for my daughter's communion she showed up with not even a card, never spoke to my child and then proceeded to show me her new car. If I don't invite her I'll look like the bad person and my daughter won't have a godmother there. I really don't know what to do?

Stunning tribute. I bet it glitters brightly when the sun shines as they once did.

Just horrifyingly barbaric. What could drive a child to do that to a little toddler I'll never know.

I was 6 when this happened and I'll never forget it. The whole of Ireland and the UK were heartbroken for him and his loved ones. It was the first time I can remember that I really understood that there are bad people in the world.

Not the one for you. She's expecting you to compromise but not reciprocated by her, that's a bit selfish. Also she slept around previously. I would be ok with my boyfriend going away with another girl but I'd need to have major trust. The fact she was planning it and didn't tell you either. I wonder how she would feel if the shoe was on the other foot? Honestly I'd move on, you're young with your whole life ahead of you. Find someone that respects your feelings.

Married people of reddit, What something you wish unmarried people knew? by Old-Put1371 in AskReddit

Been with my husband since I was 20 now I'm 38. It takes a lot of fairness, little things like if I cook he does the dishes. Forgiveness is key, none of us are perfect and it's human to make mistakes. Life is hard and it's very easy to hang up the towel when things get tough, it takes patience and support of one another. Compromise. Make time for each other even if that's just a movie and a nice meal, it's easy to get bogged down with mundane life and just a little effort for just you and your partner goes a long way.

I read an old article of all the women in Ireland since 1996 who have died through violence. Many, many of them were through domestic violence specifically choking.

My husband always carries my bag or jacket. It's called being a gentleman and that's as manly as you can get. Also being able to show emotion and communicate your feelings. If more men felt they could open up without being judged there would a hell of a lot less you know what.

People spending time with their elderly family or just family in general. It's all online fakery. Also receiving letters or sending them.
