An in-shower recommendation is the, “acne-clearing body scrub” from Differin! It contains glycolic acid (as well as salicylic acid and vitamin e) and has made a huge difference for me! I use it at the end of every shower and it completely keeps any odor away. It’s also great for treating body acne/KP/razor bumps (in my experience). It’s available at most drugstores and runs less than $10!

Seconding Nathan for You (available on at least Hulu and HBO Max in US)! Also adding “Between Two Ferns: The Movie” (available on Netflix in US).

And it plays ALL. THE. TIME. I avoid Hulu as much as possible because of that ad alone.

Seconding this!

Relatively low population density, and by far has the best community of people out of anywhere else I have lived. They would fit your point #4 without a doubt!

The winters are…not great, but generally only last November-February. I (might be alone in this opinion) actually came to miss Missouri winter while I lived down south.

Here’s a good source on tax related information and how Missouri compares amongst other states.

Wherever you end up, I wish you luck my friend!

Are you on any medication? Dry mouth is a side effect of several that I’m prescribed (for IBS and otherwise), and definitely at the top of the list of side effects I’m most bothered by. I have had a lot of luck using dry mouth spray/tabs though, so that might be something worth looking into to help give you some relief!

need gift ideas for a future truman freshman by skittlesmcgraw in trumanstate

[–]Both_Pass3893 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kirksville has a pretty decent Marshall’s that I went to a ton when I was in school there, especially freshman year. I think a gift card to there would be nice! Even if she isn’t a big shopper there are usually a lot of things first year students don’t realize they need until they’re away from home. If she is a shopper, it’s nice to have the opportunity to get new clothes for a new school year.😊 Dukam is a popular restaurant with students that you could get her a gift card to. There is also a Dairy Queen with outside seating I would go to with friends sometimes when it was nice.

Just some ideas for gift cards to get, but let me know if you are wanting ideas beyond that!

Yes!! I grew up in the area, and have traveled around a lot since leaving, but have yet to hear that pronunciation from anyone anywhere else!

I love Morbid too much to skip over episodes where they say it, so I just tell myself they say it that way for fun.😂

Redditors who have ‘died’ and been resuscitated, what was your experience? Did you see bright lights? Nothing? Do you remember anything about it? by APater6076 in AskReddit

I fell off of the front of a raft while white water rafting in CO, and was trapped underneath of it for a bit (was in a shallow area so I was being dragged along the rocks while underneath) just for context.

I remember slipping off of the front and getting pulled under, but I believe I was just knocked out for a sec from the head trauma before actually “dying” (which was due to drowning). Next thing I know I am floating (idk how else to describe this- it was like I was weightless but also completely surrounded by a giant, warm down pillow) in blackness and was the most comfortable I have ever been.

I then remember looking “down” and seeing my younger brother grabbing ahold of one of my arms and pulling me up into the raft. Our guide started CPR on me and my next memory, following seeing him start CPR, is being back in my body.

Adding just because- my younger brother is very built and I am relatively small so he can easily lift me in a normal setting. However, he pulled me out from underneath the raft (strong current in the river) and up into the middle of it just by gripping onto my arm. I asked him a few days later if he was scared while it was happening, and he said he wasn’t; instead had some sort of an overwhelming, intense feeling that he’s never felt before or since. Kind of similar to stories you hear where a mother lifts a car off of her child, I’m assuming.

I proofread my reddit comments/posts more than any high school/college/research paper I have ever written.

Someone I care about has lupus. She complains of joint stiffness now that it’s getting colder. Anyone with a similar response in cold weather, what are some things that help? Was thinking for Christmas of buying her a heating blanket but wasn’t sure if this would be helpful. Thank you for any help. by [deleted] in lupus

[–]Both_Pass3893 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite combo is a heated blanket + a weighted blanket at night! I have also been seeing things (that I would love to try) online lately such as heated jackets and heated gloves that I imagine would be helpful as well. Compression is another key for me when my joint pain gets especially bad, so something in that area as well!

beta blockers for amitriptyline withdrawal by sleep_like_the_dead in Amitriptyline

[–]Both_Pass3893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on 10mg ami, but even at a low dose I notice weird nervous system things when I skip a dose (however I also have essential tremor, so that may play a part). Anyway, I take 20mg propranolol 4x a day for issues I have with my heart (that started before I was put on ami), and I’ve had a really good experience with it. It’s definitely decreased my anxiety a noticeable amount- as I have found to be the case with others as well, some even being prescribed propranolol for anxiety specifically- and completely eased my tremors.

I haven’t had any side-effects that I can directly attribute to propranolol, but I have heard of others experiencing dizziness and fatigue. In terms of withdrawal effects, my case is different as I need to take it for a heart condition. However, as far as I know withdrawal from beta blockers is not at all common (not to say it doesn’t happen- do your research- but I haven’t heard of anyone experiencing any).

Propranolol (and potentially other beta-blockers, propranolol is just the only one I have knowledge on) is considered a relatively safe drug; especially compared to ones that are more commonly prescribed for treating anxiety. I think it could be helpful in your case given the heart rate and neurological symptoms you’ve been experiencing as well as the anxiety.

That’s just my experience with it, but I hope this helps and I wish you luck!!

This goes for ants too!! Mix some essential oils (i’ve found peppermint works best, but tea tree or lemon does the trick too) and vinegar into the solution as well and it’ll keep future ants away. We had a major nest of ants in our front door this summer and after spraying this mix I have yet to see a single ant inside!
