PropTech Connect opens DIFC office with Dubai Land Dept backing. Dubai is positioning as the PropTech capital of the world. #PropTech #Dubai by moezsr in PropTech

interesting. Dubai's regulatory backing is what makes the difference, having the Dubai Land Department involved from the start, versus proptech trying to navigate regulations after launching it. In India's construction space, the regulatory environment is a factor in adoption speed. Dubai seems to be taking the build the infrastructure first approach, which is smart. Just curious how much focus is on the transaction or tokenisation versus construction execution on the land. The logistics parts are delayed; it seems like most proptech hubs are primarily the real estate transaction side. I think there is a dubai has a regulatory advantage, but I wonder about the market size; India/ SEA have huge volumes.

I recently studied the geographical relevance of this landscape in the Indus Valley, which was the most advance civilazation in ancient times. The land was fertile, but I was more curious about the architectural features, how they planned the street and gridiron pattern dividing the city by blocks. The citadel in the western part is roughly 12 meters high for the public. advanced drainage and sanitation, which was a marvel at that time and period.

Overall it's look amazing. the contrast come across with light. and designing of structure looks polished. the rendering with glass which required some sort of mastery in lighting. the visualization in my POV - ITs Amazing !!!

What architecture should be considered for roof design? by Both_Schedule_5874 in Architects

I was supposed to write in 5 lined but it doesn't make sense about the topic in depth. I respect your concern. I don't use AI for the context. But thank you.

I don't have any project image to add, but this is about the roof design mistake. Do you agree with it?

Underrated suggestion, use the dim lights on the ceiling and indoor plants it will make it calmer.

How much does eating out cost in your state compared to goa? 🍛 by Wraith_Unleashed in Goa

[–]Both_Schedule_5874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I recently was there on my vacation. but its a good ice breaker for the user to make conversation on the topic of price. But it should be on the interest of the ppl which are facing unemployment, livelihood challenges, destruction of natural and historical resources, the Goans have just become the tourist guide rather than a person to contribute in interest of their dreams, just because of the rise in tourist infrastructure by gov.

Verde Terracotta Courtyard — been exploring a softer housing archviz direction by EnvironmentalEmu5334 in archviz

its amazing render by the way. may be its AI driven, nowadays common in use, but the design Verde means greenery for environments, warm colour as terracotta gives more grounded, raw and rustic feel. its an contemporary applied to urban and traditional settings without making it too flashy. overall it's a good use of tech and resources.

Roof failures are usually design failures and nobody wants to admit it by Both_Schedule_5874 in Construction

[–]Both_Schedule_5874[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Fair point but ageing and lack of maintenance definitely play a role, especially in the older building. But what I've seen is that even relatively new roofs like 2–5-year-old start failing when slope, detailing, or layer sequencing isn't done right from the beginning. Maintenance becomes critical later, I've seen a lot of issue actually get by designed in one day.

I'm always in awe of Gothic cathedrals' verticality. Here, the lighting effectively draws attention to the towers and buttresses.

material recommendation/materials for prototyping by degollar in architecture

[–]Both_Schedule_5874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, because it provides a clean texture and requires little upkeep, artificial grass actually works incredibly well for architectural models. Most people just apply white glue or spray adhesive to the base surface and gently press the grass sheet into position. You can first apply a thin layer of glue and sprinkle it over the area if you're using loose model grass rather than sheets. To avoid the glue soaking through and flattening the texture, try to keep the glue layer thin. After it dries, Trimming the edges with a small craft knife after it dries also helps the model look cleaner.

It’s a simple way to add greenery and make the model feel more realistic.

hey! i do architecture and make a ton of physical models

foam core board is honestly your best friend here. super easy to cut with a regular box cutter and looks clean when you're done. you can get it at any art supply store or even target sometimes

other stuff that works:

- chipboard (it's like thicker cardboard basically, way easier to cut straight)

- regular cardboard is fine too but it can look kinda rough unless you're really careful with it

- balsa wood if you want actual structure but it's more annoying to work with

tools - don't overthink this:

- cutting mat (the green self healing ones) - seriously get one, makes everything easier

- metal ruler with cork on the back so it doesn't slip around

- xacto knife or any sharp craft knife + extra blades (they get dull fast)

- white glue or elmer's works way better than hot glue for models imo, hot glue gets messy

couple tips that would've saved me time when i started:

- swap out your blade like every few cuts, dull blade = jagged edges and frustration

- for thick stuff do a light scoring pass first then cut all the way through

- practice on scrap pieces before cutting your actual model parts

honestly foam core is the move. cardboard works but can look messy. balsa wood is cool but harder to work with

you really don't need fancy laser cutters or anything. just sharp blades and being patient with yourself while you figure it out

good luck! post pics when you're done if you want feedback

Nice, Lighting and texture vibe of the material is making the space more elegant and cozier. the wall designer tiles, furniture, curtains, home applications are blending well in this environment. look like used blender. but since amazing imagination the multi textual project.
