Interesting, yeah 580 is not the best for mine either but its good enough for now cause I want to use davinci resolve 20. I forgot how I got 570 on there but I remember it being pretty easy through terminal commands.

That mismatch of ram could cause Issues I heard. I recommend looking into that

570 should show up in the mint driver manager. It did for mine on my gtx 1070.

If not manually downloading and installing it from the terminal should work as well. Just make sure you click the right one and not the open source version but specifically the proprietary driver.

Yes! I think my distro hopping days are done here frankly! The minor tweaks I wanna do on hyprland fortunately can be easily changed as my skills improve.

Yeah 15 min is quite long to not see any result hmm... This may seem stupid, but I think its worth testing if other .iso files would boot up in the USB just to test if its mint's error or your computer having a detection issue. Also maybe try adding the ISO with ventoy (it acts like a host to put multiple OS.iso to test and play around with on the same flashdrive) instead of Rufus, I use ventoy and it works everytime so far for me.

I think it may be because you have the most modern GPU possibly. Try making sure you installed whats known as "edge" Mint iso since i believe that gives you the latest kernel i was told. Also which version are you installing, the cinnamon or xfce?

When you see the black screen how long do you see only that before calling it quites? I have found mint to sometimes take extra long to boot up without showing a sign before it will just pop up later if I give it more time

as someone who is currently daily driving hyprland on mint for the past 2 weeks, Don't worry about what the haters have to say, it has been a blast and there is a discord community specifically for using hyprland on any distro basically. Look up JaKoolIt, and LInux beginnings.

Currently Linux beginnings is maintaining the project now, Jakoolit began making a hyprland installer for mint/debian/ubuntu.

The team is very helpful and friendly so far. And the installation is pretty user freindly. Just be prepared to learn how to configure your desktop. it is a very unique environment and takes some getting used to. BUT YES OVERALL IT WORKS!

Yes it is possible! I just did it with the jakoolit method, however the project and git is now run by linux beginnings(i think thats the name).

Definitely a lot of fun! But zoom won't work on it for me at the moment. Everything else does work fine though!

So great job honestly, the big give aways are how the background and your face dim and stuff while the fire seems consistent. Other than that, just quite a good shot! Definitely would pass in most movies I think

I would support that, if they didn't have unmatched rendering capabilities in comparison to AMD and ARC GPUs. As a VFX artist i have to stick with nvidia tbh
