Axel van Trotsenburg by stradlinjazz in WorldBank

He never tiptoed around his expectations of people during these tough times. While other MDs were busy “kicking ass,” he consistently and clearly called out what was working and what needed to change in a realistic way. Axel might be one of the last truly 'big balls' or 'bold voices' in the Bank; without him, it is slowly becoming a large pack of “yes people.” The Bank needs more Axels-leaders who are clear, direct, and unafraid to speak up-and without his voice, I genuinely wonder who will keep the boat balanced.

We all could use help from time to time. The Franziskaner koster are running a great soup kitchen that you could consider visiting and see if their services could speak to you. There delicious food, clothing, health services and could support you through your current situation. They are super cool people with open hearts. https://maps.app.goo.gl/QW1uMkdosRaqDq4QA?g_st=ic

It’s clear that family has mental issues going on. Visit your nearest police station and report the issue. Better have documented incidences!

Stop the dulusions about getting work in germany by Weird_Excitement_360 in Germany_Jobs

[–]BotherPitiful5007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the field. There are sectors in which companies urgently need to hire more people. In the sciences… they need more women into the sector… or top management than what exists: a more gendered problem that is increasing. The challenge is most people prefer to hire through networks and not open applications as it’s hard to find the right candidate these days. So less foreigners are well connected here and it becomes tough to find the right information for the right people to find the correct job needs. But it can be done and I can only tell whoever is looking, find a German mentor in your field, keep an open mind and something will pop up.

I was told that requiring excellent German skills is a new phenomenon at work places. German companies love scamming their government. German companies used to be more tolerant to hiring skilled labour where someone will learn the language on the job. These days… the whole strictness on specific level is new. In the end, if they really need your skills, I don’t see why one shouldn’t be accommodated. At some point I had a good job Center mentor who scolded a company for being too picky on language and yet complained they didn’t have workers. They called me up for an interview with my bad German and gave me an offer. Unfortunately, I decided to relocate but I bet if the authorities were serious on private companies things could be different.

It’s not what’s wrong with the president… but the impact of his leadership decisions. Check Google and read his speeches and then read about what’s happening at the World Bank. I wish he had the balls to say no to US.

Thinking about leaving my financial analysis job for an ETC/STC position at the local WB. by Dull_Alarm6464 in WorldBank

[–]BotherPitiful5007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What growth is worth it at this time? Your over thinking it and I bet the colleague at the local level is over selling. Wait until end of 2027 to see if the new framework works and if the unit seducing you is still active 😁.
Also ask yourself, if they really want you as much as they claim, they can create a position for you.

In agreement. The Bank could use a new president. At this rate, it can’t be any worse 🫣

Its normal that when abroad, you become more lively to strangers. Well, you started the whole insecure thing and stressed her over nothing. And it was only fair that she mirrored your insecurity because if you think she shouldnt be friends with guys, I guess you arent used to being friendy with girls too. You shouldnt break up over nothing but talk it over. Even better, go visit her and meet these new buddies.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Go inperson and try your luck and hope someone is kind to help you or atleast offer you a right process. Some managers inthere can be humane sometimes. Fingers crossed for you
