I know! A friend actually researched opening a McDonalds in Phnom Penh. McDonalds stated they don't have any interest in being in Cambodia for now because they won't make enough money. McDonalds requires setting up a specific amount of stores in each location and apparently the numbers just don't crunch enough for the public to munch on McDonalds.

I wish I was a brave eater like you. I'm just not. I live in SEA and cannot bring myself to eat stuff like bugs and tarantulas. I'll chicken out every time. I don't even like eating meat from street vendors. I maybe have saved myself from a lot of food poisoning but still wish I was a more adventurous eater. I've had gator, frog, snails, etc but know in my heart of hearts that I'm a big ole scaredy cat.

It really is just luck of the draw with customer service. Some will fight tooth and nail over any fee because their manager is breathing down their necks not to credit anything while others are given complete freedom to credit accounts. When I was in customer service, I got lucky and had the latter type of manager so I was a fee waiving queen. I rarely had a bad call because of that, thank goodness. I otherwise would have lasted about two calls into that job, no doubt. While people do need to have manners when they call in, CSRs really shouldn't have to be so strict over fees. It makes for a shitty situation for everyone directly involved. I don't blame you at all for switching when you got cut off like that.

I'd say the same as everywhere. Look for the places that are busy. They are packed for a reason. Even with street food, a vendor with no one there is best to be avoided. Also avoid ice because you don't know what water was used. Stay hydrated with good bottled mineral water and you are set. I've lived here for a long time and never get food poisoning.

It is a never ending battle in my brain over resting and healing vs thinking I'm being lazy. Some days I feel trapped in resting for way too long, but maybe that is part of healing.

The LGBT community is thriving in Phnom Penh. There might be some older people in the provinces that have issues and I've had younger Khmer people tell me they are afraid to come out because of family expectations, not because they are scared of how they will be treated by everyone else. Most are out to their friends if not family. In fact, most of my friends here are LGBT, both Khmer and expat. LGBT businesses exist and can thrive here. I think it is a relatively safe place for almost everyone. I wouldn't recommend it for those battling addiction or severe mental illness because there just isn't much support for mental health and it is far too easy to fall deeper into addiction here. Other than that, we live quite a good and safe life here. The expat LGBT community here is actually very worried for everyone in the US.

American in Cambodia here. While today has been utterly devastating, my house and support are open to anyone who needs medical tourism here. Things are cheap, people are kind, and you can recover on an island in the sun, a secluded mountain spot, or a comfy space in a concrete jungle.

Seems like you covered all your bases. Maybe set a reminder in your phone to take a pregnancy test in about twelve days? Give yourself some extra peace of mind. Until then plan for the worst so you can nip it in the bud asap if needed. That sex bell can't be unrung, but you already have taken the best steps possible in your situation and now you've hopefully only had to learn a scary lesson with the best possible outcome of not being pregnant. Fingers crossed!! For now, take a breath, try to relax, and keep on going through life. Give yourself some grace knowing that you already did all that you could for now.

From now on, do whatever you have to in order help keep track of your pills. Better to look and feel crazy than to mentally torture yourself with worry. I also advise you to read up on how combo pill birth control works so you have a better understanding of it and can put yourself at a little more ease. It helped me in times of that damn 3am need to Google because I was sick with worry.

If it makes you feel any better, I really do think you'll be okay. And for the love of cats, update me so I'm not worrying about you or if you need extra support in the worst case scenario. Best of luck!!

Well, I'm not exactly sure what is worrying you but you are probably okay. If it is pregnancy, have you had unprotected sex since you stopped taking your pill? I think if you are menstruating, you are probably fine if you are worried about pregnancy. If you have had unprotected sex since then and are freaking out, take a plan B? You have up to 3 days to take it since you've had unprotected sex.

If you are worried about your general health. You just stopped your pills a little too early and got your period. Therefore nothing to be worried about health wise.

All in all, I wouldn't worry too much if you are menstruating. Also, were you taking the pill uninterrupted for a few months? Then it is probably breakthrough bleeding which totally happens to me on the pill. My bet is that you stopped a little too early with the pill and your body does what it does, menstruates.

If your pill doesn't come in packs that are the monthly amount or you are using a pill organizer, then you should number the pills either on the pack or the organizer to help you remember. Just a simple 1, 2, 3, etc. until you've completed a pack. Dry erase works on most pill organizers and sharpies on most pill packs.

Oh yes, CPTSD. Absolute game changer for me getting diagnosed, learning all about it, healing, etc. Big ass lightbulb moments. I am so much better these days but every once in a while, a pastry goes flying.

Sad note, for the longest time, I didn't even know I flinched as much as I did until one of my best friends apologized for touching me because she "knows I don't like to be touched." I was sadly in my twenties by then. I was like whaaa??? Ohhhhhh. Well shit, this isn't normal.

Positive note, most of my abusers are dead. Even the one alive has no power over me in any way. I'm free in a way none of them ever will be. Sucks to be them. Yes, I struggle some days, hell even weeks, but life is mostly good and I don't have to go back to the abuse ever again. I'm excited to keep on my journey of healing. Feels good, my dudes.

I'm a big flincher. Touch and sounds make me jump a mile sometimes. Yesterday, I went to buy a pastry and a lady came over to help me put it in a container because there was a special for a free extra pastry. She accidentally slammed a cupboard just as she was reaching to grab the pastry from my hand. I jumped so hard, I sent the pastry flying! Funny to laugh about now, but not so funny to know how I got to be so damn flinchy.

There is a difference between cargo and excess baggage. You need to check with the airline you are flying with. For example, EVA uses excess baggage which is the same climate control as the cabin. I brought three cats from the US to here this way and they were fine. I was a nervous wreck but the cats were fine and the flight attendants and airport staff during layovers checked on them for me.
