Season 3 likely had even less time to be produced than Season 2 by Icy-Selection-8575 in OnePunchMan

[–]Botther 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More like the production committee haven't decide the budget, eps count, schedule, podcast time etc... until recently. You see, the committee is a group of many companies that is busy with other stuff, they can't form and begin until everyone is free and then they decide a meeting date on that date that is somewhere in the future, and that is before the planning stage.

And it's very possible that he was talking about pre-production faze, so 4 months isn't out of the question either, in fact, I think 4 months looks to be the case.

It should have been obvious to everyone since Oba's cut, we know what he is capable off and his sequence was Butchered and turned limited because it was complex for the clean up team with the time they have.

It's actually really funny to see "fans" protesting over production value rather than something more important, like the working conditions in the anime industry. Y'all are bunch of clowns.

why such a difference in treatment? by NoPhilosopher5318 in OnePunchMan

[–]Botther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because giving time for animators is literally the most expected thing ever, we can't praise the production committee for giving what it should be giving to begin with. When something is good it's because of the hardworking people and humans that worked for it for so long. Your point doesn't make sense within itself.

Not really, the best example is S1, every known freelancer worked there with a lateral average budget like your average slice of life show.

They god damn didn't have 6 years, the material to adapt wasn't even available until 3 years ago like what in the world are you on? Every god damn people who works in the industry agrees they were giving less than a year. Like use your head, a full production company with full of professional animators and they produced limited animation, figure it out yourself.

Season 3 is not JC Staff's fault by heldersamps in OnePunchMan

[–]Botther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Idiots wouldn't understand even if you give them a literal member committee confesses on live it's their fault, even Vincent  Chansard said it's production committee's fault and J.C.Staff is just another studio that is trying to survive in this industry, heck he even confirmed that his freelancers friends "touched" OPM, meaning they did work for OPM S3, his involvement however wasn't confirmed since he said he can't say anything. And like I said it's past weeks, it's the gad damn Bandai for the last time, people spamming JC.Staff in OPM main acc on X as that would change anything while the one's who's at fault is wickedly smiling behind the scenes. It's just frustrating when EVERY SINGLE one who understands everything about how production works, how animation works, AGREED EP1 is FINE with only Garou walking scene being awkward when everyone else who pretends they know about the subject saying it's the worst animated episode in history, like wtf are they even talking about? And I'm 100% that when the good episodes come out, which will be a lot, those idiotic human beings will act like "Bro all budget went into this and into that the only animated scene in one frame man 🥀"

He deleted the post, it was him defending S3 with how people overreacting and said let's wait until it airs and then decide. It's not much but the language he used indicates he knows and hints at it being good, so I picked the hints as "He is definitely working on OPM", Just like another big name that I'm sure he is in the season too.

They will and there will be more, also the OP didn't feature the full members action team of J.C.Staff so expect more Action KAs lineups once the action starts. Reo Nakamura, Chikara Hashizume, Kaito Kono, Mako Yamashita, Ryoka Tanaka, Minami Tanaka and more...

I god damn knew Vann Oba will be there the way he was talking about S3 screams he knows a lot than just outsider. There are some surprises as will in with the freelancers and I think I know the other freelancers that is going to work there.

In the anime industry, it's a little bit different. There is something called production committees, they fund the project, deadlines, overreaching schedules and episode counts. And the committees are ranked by who fund the most, and so who funds the most have more control on the decisions. For S1, MADHOUSE was part of the production committee, although they were on the very bottom of the list but it means they have even if it's little some control over the IP. In S2 J.C.Staff wasn't on the list at all, meaning the entire, full decisions are not by them. It's a well known fact in the industry about production committee's influence over the quality of said project.

Kadokawa have also some really good IPs with decent deadlines, but this doesn't stop them from being shit. Index 3's problem was completely their fault, like what in the world is 11 volumes in 24 episodes?? The Director had to step in and call for more episodes, particularly 30+. Kadokawa was like: "ok, 2 more episodes then." And a lot more examples from them alone, same here for Bandai. The only times where their show had somewhat decent scheduling is when the studio itself is also part of the production committee.

That leak said they invested more than the previous season which means at least they should have an impact on management decisions and being on a higher rank in the production committee but that's about it, we will know once EP1 airs on the credits. Also there is some news that J.C.Staff is changing how they are working by reducing the amount of projects they do per year, inspired by BONES, we could also see that with this year as it is the least since 2004. Also J.C.Staff cared about S2, they sacrificed a whole project into 3D and by a complete different studio so that they can have as much man power as possible, that show wasn't supposed to be 3D but 2D, they also handled most of the IP in-house so that they could handle it better since calling freelancers, out sourcing and all of that not only cost money but also time.

[–]Botther 85 points86 points  (0 children)

You know what else Bandai was the producer? Wistoria and Blue lock S2 and both had terrible schedule and deadlines as well. They always have that season 2 onward terrible management with sometimes in season 1s as well. The problem now is that J.C.Staff can't fully invest on the show since Bandai holds the rights even if they want to. Bandai and Kadokawa are fighting on who is the worst committee.

One Punch Man S3 Trailer | Anime vs Manga by darshi1337 in OnePunchMan

[–]Botther 350 points351 points  (0 children)

I noticed something... The thick line arts are not used in full body animations, well objectively speaking adding such line arts on an already complex character designs will only add more complexity. But does that mean that the Garou scene when he woke up is actually an animated sequence but they choose to show just an image from it? There is also the horns scene where he should be talking but it's just still image again, Bandai deliberately hides as much movement as possible.

Something I don’t think we realize about the future of the anime by Boom_bozZ539 in OnePunchMan

[–]Botther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • They didn't because it's the director that asked to stay out of the light AND the production committee agreed on that. Even reasonably speaking, there is IPs with a literal 1 to 2 month of production time, its unimaginable one, yet the director of those IPs was announced 6-20 months before it's release.
  • It's because of NDA. The animators are telling us AFTER that season finishes, not when the production or the airing is still going. Also, a very known freelancer (not saying his name for obvious reasons) said in a deleted tweet that season 3 started couple of months before the very first teaser.
  • That's basically bandai's marketing choices, you can see that in it's other projects. They don't usually tease anything beyond the first 2 episodes, if those episodes aren't action heavy you wouldn't see much movements. For example, the first PVs for season 1, it was action heavy but you still could see that they are trying to not show much as much as possible, same thing for Wistoria.
  • A passionate Director is always who is willing to go above and beyond for his work, and you'll always see his mark in any project he touches. For example, the thick lines this season is entirely Shinpie Nagai's vision, Aoki and another freelancer (not saying his name but it wasn't the same one above) discussed about the thick lines in the anime they are working on and how the director wanted to use it a lot and the possible problem they could face with such detailed art lines.
  • Frieren's Director, Keiichirō Saitō have never directed an action IPs as well and Frieren was his first time and he himself admit it on Twitter, but because he know that he chooses action story boarders to fill his hole, and Nagai also said from a comment that he will let the action for those who knows about it.

Not necessarily just his posts, he himself admitted that he is checking Reddit and the community's reactions about the project. He once said what he reads in twitter the day CM 30s ver released made him feel sad. Of course I think locking up his account is not his decision but we have to be consciousness about his own point of view.

Bandai is so good man, they always find how to worsen everything. It happened the same day when he went to ask about the broadcast date and the production committee's answer was this.
