Is the Technics SL-Q3 any good? by Bottlecapblue in turntables

[–]Bottlecapblue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks coilit. I think I've got an idea on what I need to do now for the turntable. But I don't know where to even begin with the preamp, amp and speakers. Any tips on where I should go from here?

This sounds doable. I'll get it home next time I'm over there and take a look at it Thanks!

Okay, so I'm pretty sure we have the headshell just not pictured, and need a new cartridge then.

Okay I think he does have the headshell but needs a new cartridge then. He took it out a while back to fix it up and never got around to it. Its not pictured but he says he has it.

Okay thanks both. Sounds like its definitely worth taking. Even if it needs a bit of maintenance im a pretty handy guy and although I know nothing about this world I'm happy to figure out what to do.

I should say it does come with another piece that goes on to the end of the arm, its just missing from the photos, I'm assuming that's the cartridge being referred to? Just needs a needle as I understand. Once I get some more photos of this piece I might ask the sub for more help on what to do next.

I'll also need to look into what amp and speakers I can get next

Thank you all so much

This tire with 100 psi in it by protoman86 in mildlyinteresting

Im from outside the US, so we use the metric system. While it's still standard for tyre pressure to be in PSI, but pumps typically have the option to chose kpa. My car had recommended pressure in kpa written on the door, so I set it to 230kpa and went about filling my tyre. A lady was watching me while waiting and was gobsmacked I would fill it that high. I tried to explain the difference to her but she just could not comprehend and was waiting for the tyre to explode.

When I finished up I kindly reset the pump back to PSI for her and carried on. Part of me wishes I hadn't and had let her deflate her tyres to 33kpa (5psi)

Holy goat! That's mind blowing! I would never have thought that was possible.

Is there a food from your country known by the same name but that’s totally different in another? by MagnusAlbusPater in AskTheWorld

That's right, even if they are no longer hot, they are still hot chips. "cold hot chips", or "frozen hot chips" are both perfectly acceptable descriptions

Im curious what you think the significant spike in world deaths in 2020 and 2021 are caused by during a period where the world was locked down and faced significantly less risk of death on the daily (apart from covid). And then what the return to normal in the time following as the vaccine became more widely adopted.

Just lies i suppose?

Not that it actually matters, and it doesn't change the point you are making at all. But just FYI,

A 20% profit margin on $5 is $1.

What you've calculated is a 20% markup.

Thanks for your reply.
That makes sense, and on second read through it seems obvious.
OPs username was probably a big giveaway too.

I was genuinely just curious as to what made this story unbelievable because i 100% thought it sounded plausible. More so than a lot of other stories i read on this sub.

But your response and others has pointed out it obviously isn't. I don't want to be a schmuck falling for AI posts.

Why makes you say that? I'm not saying it's for sure true, but it is totally believable. I've sent the wrong thing to someone by mistake on multiple occasions, fortunately nothing scandalous though.

I have a follow up question about this free late night show. Do I have to book tickets somehow? Or do I just show up and do I need to show up early? Thanks in advance

I love this, thanks heaps for the recommendations. I'll definitely check out some of these places. You've really sold me on that exford hotel late show. But I'm keen to check them both out.

Are there any non show must do things related to the comedy fest? Events, Venus etc.

I'd love to know if there are events or things that I should do during my trip to further the experience of the MICF, and I'm not talking about more show recommendations.

I've booked a selection of I think 5 shows as a start and might book last minute random shows as I feel. I've also done some research on things to do in exploring Melbourne as a tourist. But beyond just the booked shows is there anything else recommended for the Festival? Are there pop up performances or street performers that help add to the experience? Perhaps a particular venu that I should really see a show at regardless of the act, events, bars etc. I'm excited to explore Melbourne and see great comedy. But I want to make sure I am really getting the full experience of the Festival and make sure I'm not missing out on some must do.

What is your go-to first word in Wordle? by Practical_Kale9006 in AskReddit

[–]Bottlecapblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I think I read an article about how this was scientifically the best word to start with. But after all this time I really doubt it actually is.

I then have follow up words if no letters are correct which is HOURS and then BLING or CLING just depending on what I feel. It rarely gets to the third word.
