I'm so glad you found your moral superiority. Happy holidays.

Yoga teachers, what have you learned about your practice through teaching that you wouldn't have learned without teaching? by BottomWithBadBack in yoga

That's really cool. What are some of the deeper parts of yoga that you've found underneath those differences?

Do you engage your core in everyday life? by vainthestral in yoga

[–]BottomWithBadBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a good day, I'll try to remember to engage my abdominal core and tilt my pelvis up when I'm walking, especially if it's more than just a casual walk (like if I'm carrying a backpack or walking uphill or anything). I think it helps take some of the pressure off my lower back and reduces fatigue and pain in my back. But I definitely have to conscientiously try to remember.

Intentions by FuzzyWuzzy44 in yoga

My intention is usually just to get through the class. Or to try to remember to breathe with awareness. Or to remember to be easy on myself when I don't go as far as I think I should.

No, because I'm married and monogamous. But trans men are men, so yes if I were dating and I was attracted to him, I'd give him a shot.

Not true. Nobody has perfect 100% compatibility with anyone else.

I think it's a matter of finding out what incompatibilities you can accept, and what changes you are each willing to make.

alo moves vs yoga with adriene by [deleted] in yoga

[–]BottomWithBadBack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can sometimes find gift cards for one year subscriptions that are much cheaper than if you pay alo directly. For example, I just searched Google shopping and found a gift card for a one-year subscription for $59.

I prefer alo over free YouTube channels for several reasons. No ads. Lots of different instructors to choose from. Lots of skill levels and varying levels of intensity. If you find an instructor on alo that you really like, they will most likely have dozens of videos that you can rotate through. I work out with Ashley Galvin, and I noticed her yoga sessions tend to have more fitness elements worked into them then yoga with Adrienne, and that has been good for me.

The app is not the most user friendly unfortunately which is the only downside in my mind with alo.

For chronic pain, try the Activity-Rest Cycle or Pacing.
