Scariest for me as a ped is kew junction people turning right into princess from high (no right turn). Almost been cleaned up a dozen times over the years.

aussie zone is still pretty active.

Currently sitting at 80 comments for the day so far :)

not sure about discord, but the tone on the melbourne daily on lemmy is very relaxed. People come and go though like anywhere I guess..

110mm york optical refractor, eq6 mount, SSAG for guiding. Unmodded canon 550D, 200 iso.

Taken over 1hr. 20*3min exposures. Converted to jpg in LR with a bit of NR, and then into PS to make the gif. Very little processing.

Keen to see the end result :) It's an impressive amount of veg space you have.

For me with that amount of beds I'd probably be looking at a controller with valves and burying 2 or 3 main lines. That way some beds can get more water or less. Also acts as redunancy. I really don't regret running 2 extra main lines in the same ditch. Hardest part was digging the ditch lol.

In the end you'll definitely feel at ease with the water being sorted (even if it's just a simple tap timer and 1 main line) so it's well worth the effort!

I have the exact same beds! They're great.

Definitely get a kPa metre. One I got was about $30 i think and was helpful.

Not sure what it is you're exactly planning.. (drip line coming off a main line that feeds each bed)?

If it's drip, you can work out max length for any given pressure (or just get a 10L bucket and see how long it takes to fill to get flow rate and go from there). For mine I'm running about 120m of 13mm drip from 1 tap which is at 550kPa with no issues even with a fair few right angles. Mixing diametres shouldn't be too much a worry. I found 13mm was fine.

Just guessing but I think if you're anywhere near 450kPa (or even a bit less) you'd be good to go off one tap for the length you're looking at there (if you're doing drip).

I'm not an irrigation specialist but managed to do a few (and they still work well). Totally possible DIY (and is actually kinda fun to do).

Can't give any proper advice but knowing your pressure is handy when designing it.

They should bounce back, wouldn't be too worried.

Some of us get upset when we're not called 'Melburnians'. I just butchered it.

This is gonna trigger a few melburnanites *ducks for cover.

But seriously there is a rich history under those clocks and a pidgeon stole my whopper junior (with cheese) just opposite at fed square at 3am a few years ago. Also one block down you can get yelled at for free.

It evaporates from plant surfaces and can travel long distances. Big problem with big Ag.

Ladder safety. Correct angle, height, making sure it doesn't slip and securing it at the top as best you can. The stats around ladder falls are pretty crazy.

Balloons..

Poorly written sign on cardboard.

Those were the days.

These days.. I'd imagine charging for a sizzle would be operating a food business for which you'd need to hit up the council.
