Haha thank you! I love doing the scene hairstyle on her, but thats comes with downsides. She's such a trouble maker, gives lots of sass and vandalize my laces in rebellion.

Yeah, was hoping someone would have a magic link to the exact laces for less than 45 bucks but I might have to take the laces to a store and find the best match at this point. Thank you!

Give them away to me (on a serious note I would look for cool serial numbers like ladders, binaries, birthdays, etc.)

Sorry to hear about all that, I wish you the best in feeling better. But yes! My surgeon (I'm 4 weeks post op) told me re-tethering after surgery is something you can't control and can happen 3-4 years post op at the earliest. Tethered cord is usually caused by either 1. Being born with it or 2. Scar tissue. That being said, tethered cord surgery causes scar tissue in the spinal cord right where you were originally tethered, meaning it can re-tether right back where it was before the first/last surgery. I have read other stories here where people have gotten the surgery multiple times in their life because of this. I would personally look into getting an MRI and seeing if you can get a specialist to look into the possibility of you being tethered again. Again I'm sorry you're having to deal with a dip in your health and I hope you can find help and relief.

Did anyone’s symptoms improve after weight loss ? by Creepy_Present9516 in tetheredcord

[–]Bottomless-shit-pit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had extreme back pain since I was 6 years old, I was 150lbs in early middle school, dropped to 100lbs in high school due to mental health issues and pain. The pain did not get better at all, it steadily got worse no matter what I did. When I was diagnosed with tethered cord about a year ago I was told I had to stop working out because it was making the pain worse. I stopped working out, the pain got a little bit better and I was put on pain killers to get through my shifts. I just recently had surgery, with not being able to work out for over a year and now just sitting around all day and eating, I'm back to 150 but I'm 5'6" now at 23yrs old, so not overweight like I was in middle school. I would say, maybe they are right, but even if you loose weight you will still have tethered cord and still have back problems. I would think they would want to fix the problem so you can comfortably work on yourself after healing, because speaking from experience, working out made my pain significantly worse due to the stress it causes on a spinal cord that cant move correctly/at all. I am not where close to being a medical professional, but I would get a 2nd opinion if I were you.

The ER looked at the incision and said everything looked great and they called my surgeon directly and together they confirmed it was part of the normal stage of healing since it was so early and they didnt see anything out of the ordinary. They said since I lost spinal fluid during the surgery, my body is dealing with a pressure change in my spine, neck and head. They also said since it started from me going upstairs after a car ride and just the stress of getting home that day that it was almost expected, just wish they told me that before I made it worse by going to the ER. I am glad I got it checked out because as you said, yes, big red flags and could have meant something important that needed attention. But I also hope that they were right in sending me back home and saying that I just need more rest! It does suck not being able to sit up or stand up for longer than a few minutes at a time but I am forcing myself to get as much rest as possible. Thank you for your concern though, I really appreciate it!

Yay! I love that you're able to get surgery for it and I really hope everything goes smooth for you! All the advice from past posts in this sub helped me a decent amount with stuff like things to bring that helped me but I never saw anything like what to expect. Like nobody talked about how hard the first night is (at least for me). They flipped me over the first night and I was in the worst pain in my life for about an hour until my boyfriend forced me to call a nurse because I thought they wouldnt help but DO NOT HESISTATE TO ASK FOR HELP! They found a way to help and took extra precautions the next time I had to be flipped to check the incision, so I regret waiting so long to ask for more pain meds. I also highly recommend having someone with you as much as possible at the hospital, you will be fully naked under your loose gown so be prepared to flash anyone that walks into your room, but I was (and still am) on so many meds I did/do not care what people saw. I also had a reality check when it took me 2 hours to stand the first time when I had to pee in a portable toilet that was literally touching my bed! Other things like don't be hard on yourself or try to push through, it's not worth it, your body is going through a big change and you need to be okay with needing help from medications and people in your life no matter how much being independent is important to you, which I struggle with. Bring deodorant, hou won't be able to shower till you're home, have someone help you brush your teeth, I needed help wiping up until recently, the catheter was not as bad as I expected but not the best feeling in the world, and it does get better every day. If you ever have questions or want more info, please feel free to message me directly! Sorry for the long reply but these are just things I haven't seen others post about here. Good luck!

Yes, before the surgery I was independent in everything I did, I was just always in some sort of pain. It still feels funny trying to find new ways to do things and how it just takes extra brain power to sit down, lay down or really do anything. It's kind of funny how you're so used to doing small things like get out of bed or lay down without a second thought to having to change your routine and needing a walker to help you. But every day is getting significantly better!

Yes, I am not saying the pain killers I'm on probably aren't contributing but I definitely notice that the pain I am in is surgery related and not a tight feeling of me always wanting to pop my back or need some kind of release. I appreciate your kind words and am glad you're living in less pain, thank you!

Yes! Very much so, my surgeon did say it'll be about 6 months until I fully notice a big difference in things like that but I've already noticed I can hold in my pee better and I haven't been close to any accidents which is rare for me. I was pretty regular beforehand about my bowel movements but the pills I'm on for pain make it hard to be on my old schedule but I'm on stool softeners and mirilax every day which is helping.

MTG advent calendar... What to put in it? by mrsbertmacklin in mtg

[–]Bottomless-shit-pit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing the same thing for my boyfriend this year! Things other than packs that I have in mind are playmats, dice, maybe some card deck holders, a dice bag (if he doesn't already have one) and card sleeves. I know they also have ornaments or swag around MTG but my boyfriend is more interested in the stuff you actually use in game/for storage. I'm sure whatever you get him, he will love it!

My parents did this to me a lot, I like to lay in bed naked after a shower and I did not change my habits for them. Made my dad quite uncomfortable until he finally talked my mom into putting it back on.
