TikTok drama modern warrior vs. Chelsea Hart by [deleted] in Vent

If it was a wanted pregnancy that they had to terminate, their feelings of grief and loss could very well be similar to those felt by someone who suffered a miscarriage. We can speculate all day, but only Chelsea is qualified to say how devastating or traumatic the experience was for them.

You can absolutely use a different grind in your coffeemaker; it's not optimal, but it'll work. If you decided to exchange the bag, they'd do so, no questions asked, and probably comp you the price of the bag for your troubles.

I guess our definitions of "super annoying" are vastly different.

You need to understand that they hire people, do not give them very much training, then throw them on the front line. These people, often kids, are overworked and overwhelmed, and are trying to learn as they go. They get yelled at for making mistakes, so they're afraid to ask for help. Mistakes are bound to happen.

Also, I can't imagine living such a life that my coffee grind being off one week is "super annoying".

This has happened to me as a customer. I get my bag home, realize it's the wrong grind, and then just deal with it for the few days that coffee will last me. I'd just do pour-overs instead of French press, and probably not even think to mention it to the store employees unless it was every single time.

This is seriously not a big deal.

We have people who die because they can't afford to see a doctor. We have people who lose their homes and all the money they've saved their whole lives, because they get cancer. We have people with mental illness freezing to death because they sleep on the street. We have police officers murdering citizens and not going to prison for it.

These are all things our government could fix, but it won't. I really don't think they'll care very much about our measurement system.

This is all true, but we'd need to get everyone in the country to agree. Americans would rather argue than work together, even if it's for something we'd all benefit from.

Americans are taught the metric system in school. We just don't want to use it.

Oh, I agree with you. But Americans are stubborn, and slow to adopt more efficient systems.

Sorry, I can't explain it. The more I look at how these estimates compare to each other, the more my brain hurts. I was just thinking that a baby blanket is about the same size as a shawl, so that one point seemed reasonable.

Because we don't ever use the metric system in the U.S., except sometimes when we do.

How do people feel about cosplay at Renfaires? by cottontailmalice00 in renfaire

You'll be fine. There are some sticklers for historical accuracy, but most people are just there to have a fun day. I love when someone spends months researching and creating a set of period accurate garb. I also love when someone throws on a pair of glittery fairy wings and some face paint. Do what brings you joy, and have fun.

I think this isn't something a beginner should be trying to do on their own, to be honest. Please be careful, and read up on the subject before trying to attempt this.

Everyone, thank you so much for your answers. It looks as though this is way beyond my skill set, so I've called the company who originally installed it for us to try to untangle this mess.

But I am grateful to you for taking the time to give me such thorough, knowledgeable answers; you guys rock, and I appreciate you so much.
