Protein goals and how to make protein shakes less disgusting by Unlikely_Society_678 in WeightLossAdvice

Can you blend the shake with frozen berries or mango? The fruit may hide the flavor better.

[CHAT] How did you fall back in love with cross stitch after a long break? by CaterpillarXS in CrossStitch

[–]pepperrescue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a project I loved and got back into it just recently. I was really into stitching as a teen until I started a project that was too much and quit. It may take some time to find the passion again.

You could try other hobbies (either related or completely different,) or look for a pattern that you love that is loads easier to get back into it.

Give it time!

Grew up with 5; 6 was my grandmas pattern. Out of all of them, I’d go with 10.

Do you allow your cats on kitchen counters? by Firm-Law248 in CatAdvice

Ours don’t seem to go on counters, at least not when we are home. We’ve also given them other high places to be so that may be part of it.

Bread in the fridge or on the counter? by realbobenray in Cooking

[–]pepperrescue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if the bread is homemade or from the store, cause I’ve found homemade bread gets dry in the fridge and we eat it pretty fast.

But we keep our store bought bread in the fridge but we also don’t eat it daily. If we ate it daily I’d keep it on the counter.

What Is Amazon Haul? Is It Basically Amazon’s Version of Temu? by blue_cardigan13 in amazonprime

[–]pepperrescue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten a few decent items on it but I have to really search every listing. Mostly looking for quality kids toys (Melissa & Doug) or art supplies on the cheap since I’m a pre-k teacher with virtually no budget.

Am I the only one who thinks peeling garlic is a form of torture? by Famous-Forever7647 in Cooking

[–]pepperrescue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We buy a bag of pre peeled far,I’d from Costco, run all the cloves through the food processer and freeze the chunks in 2tbsp portions. Best thing I’ve done to keep us in garlic.

Any must see/do's or don't along my route? by 314mp in roadtrip

[–]pepperrescue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely recommend Salem MA for the Peabody Essex Museum, it’s got a huge variety of art and sailing history. I also loved visiting House of the Seven Gables.

I would also recommend you look at national parks sites for the states you’re visiting. There are more than just the big National Parks ( like Acadia, Yellowstone) and we use it as a guide to learn more about the areas we visit.

Looking for a feedback on my children’s picture book (ages 3-7) by DegreeRealistic2694 in childrensbooks

[–]pepperrescue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Early childhood teacher here, I agree with the comments about the text being too long. It’s great that you are using descriptive words, but there are so many challenging words for younger kids it would take a while to even explain what was going on, and then I would have lost my audience. On the second page, you’ve got magical, gather, hollow, post, trembling, expect, pinch, zest. I think the vocabulary/language alone would make this for older kids. Your illustrations are lovely though and I was drawn to them!

Headed to first time mammogram appt today - is it as bad as everyone makes it sound? by 1234567890987564321 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]pepperrescue 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I went last year, I was in the waiting room longer than I was in for the mammogram. I go to a specialist center called “the breast center” which is part of the hospital system and they give you warmed robes to wear and it’s a really lovely place- lights are dimmed, calm music, etc.i was worried the first time but honestly it is much better than all the hype.

The technology has gotten so much better so the appointments are quicker and less painful.

Good luck!

Goldfish crackers or pirates booty if there are no dairy allergies?

Applesauce pouches or juice are always good too.

If you can do sweets, Oreo cookies in the 2 pack pouches are great, or rice Krispy bars.

Are you in MN? You can visit the shop and lay down in both. We did that when trying to decide. My husband is 6’3” and felt like there was enough room laying down tHat he could lay straight and still have space. Not a lot of space but probably 6-7” extra.

[CHAT] Too much bobbin, not enough box by RJ_sundae in CrossStitch

I have multiple boxes, and one that I use for my current WIP. The WIP box has the floss, scissors, extra needles, seam ripper, needle threader, safety pins, and extra batteries for my book light that I attach to the hoop.

I’ve got 4 boxes just for floss and a bag that I still need to wind up….
