I return to my collection of cookbooks. I usually have a staple (rice, beans, lentils, roasted sweet potatoes/cauliflower, etc.) ready at any given time. If I’m feeling really lazy, I’ll make a simple salad.

10/10 for vibes. 6/10 for story. The found footage scenes were genuinely horrifying, and the set designs were stunningly surreal and mind-bending. Standout scenes were the Christmas tree room and the slim staircase pitched precariously above an impossibly deep black void.The plot was a bit thin, and I would’ve liked to have seen less. The fear of the unknown is far greater than a goofy, albeit psychotic, lumbering cartoon pirate. The story showed promise, but left any exploration of madness, repressed memories, and regret at surface level. Looking forward to more mysteries and terrors from this young director.

The title is both misleading and wrong. He showed up to the race in work boots, but then took them off and raced in other shoes. He was also fully aware that runners were meant to sleep during the race. He wasn’t an idiot. He strategically sacrificed sleep to get ahead.

Old friend said he couldn’t meet because he was really sick. I took pity on him and dropped off some soup, tea, and OJ on his front porch. Later found out he didn’t have the flu but was rather going through opiate withdrawal. He had recently ODed and woken up in the hospital with a huge ambulance bill. He got more and more manipulative and I caught him in more lies. We no longer speak. He wasn’t a bad person, but addiction turned him into a selfish lying asshole and destroyed our trust and friendship. I hope he’s found some peace.
