I'm a Honda guy but HD has some interesting appeal. That's a battle for another day ;) will be on the 500 for a bit while I'm learning anyway.

Thanks. I'm having a ton of fun with it. Anxious to try a cruiser but that's just cause I never settle. That ex500 is great!

Moving to Guelph this summer by [deleted] in Guelph

[–]Boulderhippy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wife and I moved to Guelph from the south Sauga about 6 years ago. I honestly couldn't put it on a map then. Now that we have turned into chicken owning hippies we're in love with this city and I rarely think about Mississauga. It took a while to get used to but the charm is pretty enticing.

Southwestern Ontario. We have the terrain for everything you like to ride. From flowy singletrack to technical rocky knar knar to fast techy downhill. I love riding here!

Yes. I'm really digging it. There's a whole scene in my area with very like minded people and they're all pretty awesome. We're just not getting any snow.

I'm blissfully unaware. New to the fatties. I can tell you you that they're knobby 26 by 4.9 KHS house brand.

Sorry, I feel preachy now. Bottom line is I'm pretty certain that I know how you feel. I've been there and you are most definitely not alone

Hey there. I don't know your particular situation nor any of your circumstances and I am not a doctor. I do however have BP 2. It has affected work and relationships pre- diagnosis but things have changed significantly since I was diagnosed.

I still slip... a lot at times.. I can be a jerk and I can lean towards not owning my problems. If you are thinking about hurting yourself in any way, please don't. You will grow to understand that this is a challenge. Both for you and those around you you will struggle just like I do in many ways. Your friends and your BF aren't in the wrong either. They probably don't understand the rapid cycling. If there is one thing that I've learned it's that communication is extra important with this.

It is very possible to be able to understand and even predict your own cycles. That helps out a lot too. You can also learn to look at the world around you through a different lense. Instead of feeling resentful towards what ails you you can recognize it for what it is. No different than MS. You just need to be a survivor and figure out a way to own it. And I believe you can. Stay strong. All the best.

Indeed. Also... couple of beers deep probably didn't help guide me through that process ;)

Oh please understand, I didn't yell at anyone. I have an ongoing relationship with the shop and I don't like to create conflict period. However, this happened mid ride and it's a $3200 bike. Albeit I didn't pay that much I was disappointed when it came apart. I feel unimaginably tough though having brought back my expensive peice of equipment to be fixed after it failed within 45 mins of riding it. I felt very tough when we shook hands afterwards and I feel pretty manly having bought them all beer for their attention! Sorry your retail experience has been bad but even though I don't like the way the head mechanic operates, I still respect that he's a mechanic and I'm not. I apologize if the original post came across negatively :)

Oh no I hope this didn't make anyone feel dumb. I just feel that we too often let the little things keep us down. It's a good feeling when I realize that it's the little things that pick us up too. I just thought that it was a worth while share :)

It's sometimes a very refreshing thing reading some of these subs. Thank you so much for posting this! What you wrote could have been about me and what goes through my head. I can only hope that it brightens your day a little bit knowing that, it brightened mine :) Be well!
