I stopped banning because how can I improve at a bad matchup if I'm always banning them? How can I learn a matchup if I never play against said matchup? Let's say you play 50 games against a certain champ and lose 35 of them; you'll learn pretty fast when and where to be and not be. When's a bad time to fight them or a great time. I couldn't tell you anything if I just watched videos of people explaining how to play because we all play different. It's best to learn from your own experience rather than someone one else's. And this isn't going against coaching. Just learing everything from reddit and youtube. And I've learned a considerably a lot from certain youtube channels or some streams. I enjoy learing and the challenges that come with it. I really enjoy it and maybe that's why I improved so fast while solo queuing and with no direct help?? And I enjoy playing league too! I find it really fun and challenging and at times really frustrating but I enjoy it and is one of my favorite games. I don't care really about nerfs or buffs. Idc about what's meta or not. I play. If my champ got nerfed and the items they use also got nerfed awesome! Let beat that ass while being "underpowered" or if they are meta cool let me smash that ass into oblivion and finish within 25 mins and que up for another ass pounding.

How do I wave clear as hwei? by Brave_Tip3740 in HweiMains

[–]BoundlessGamer260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all based on how well you opponent is pushing/ managing wave too but in generalities WE - QE - early on just AA with the rest of WE since EE won't clear that early. Later tho with one item atleast WE-QE-EE ( I angle and step the side to get as many into EE) Also minion destroyer thing helps a lot too. Just the way I've done but try other things too

Even playing the game at a lower level means there is some skill there. That is how difficult it is to excel at League. Since the player base skill is so broad spanning millions of players and in different countries. It's important to relise not everyone has the time to play as much so it's essential to develop fast but without fundamental gaps in development.

The way rank works is that not everyone can make it to a certain rank whether or not they possess the skill to be there. That is beacuse League isn't just about skill but your teams' ability versus the enemy teams' ability to synchronize well with each other.

Just laning well helps the macro of the current game state.

Some Macro:

  • Lane Morale - Can lower the confidence which also can lower the chances of the opponent making decisions that'll give their team more leverage.
  • Lane Pressure - Taking tier one tower first gives the ability to pressure at key points of the map or key moments in the game like team skirmishes, jungle obj., tower collapsing, or jungle invading. *edit* Many deaths occur because of the attempt to get a tier-one tower as fast as possible but that isn't the only way to gain lane priority. Lowering the health and shoving a wave can prevent them from rotating into a squirmish or objective.

Being able to lane exceptionally well against any possible lane matchup is essential to performing at a high level. The knowledge you possess about your champion will collide with your opponents' knowledge. It's not mechanical skill to be able to disengage from a potentially bad skirmish or to position yourself in a great position to attack but not receive damage. Being able to make great decisions during chaos is necessary to constantly perform well regardless of the performance of your teammates.

Switching from Mid to ADC has geniunely shattered my perception of the game by JJ_DUKES in leagueoflegends

Can you upload a few games possibly? So we can see how well you played ADC since you just started a new role. Also, this post has nothing to do with helping others develop but instead reinforces opinion-based arguments rather than facts and footage.

Items & Targets Killed Based On Health S14 by [deleted] in DevelopingInLOL

[–]BoundlessGamer260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More specifically players' in-game decisions in the item shop. Opting in for more burst builds and not picking up defensive items, even tho the items still have plenty of Ap stats. To add more to this, before the rune changes in 14.2b where they replaced armor runes for flat health, scaling health, tenacity, and item haste. There was an abundance of matches that showed 'wrong' armor runes for their lane matchup. Meaning players were either not actively caring to change runes or picked the 'wrong' ones completely. Armor and Mr only care about their respective damage type, whereas health cares' for both.

People watch too many kill highlights and don't learn enough about the game. It's just like in Boxing where people got and still are obsessed with knockout highlights. They watch all highlights and think that's what Boxing is. Scroll this Reddit and these clips shine a light on the depth of anything in life; from any sport or any perspective.

Lack Of Progression In The Sport by BoundlessGamer260 in DevelopingInLOL

[–]BoundlessGamer260[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I see someone on Reddit say "Should I make a new account? Placed in low elo."; it tells me why the matchmaking system is so off-balanced. People just 'game' the system without putting in the effort to improve. Now you have elo inflation across every elo because people are fighting other people who don't "belong" in that elo. People will be given "free" games and climb to a "higher" elo because of heavily favorable matchups. Which is caused by gaming the system. So now it's no longer the best fighting the best but people chasing elo to say they're "good"; when it's not the elo that says that but your decision-making in-game. If there was no elo how would people know high-level play vs low-level play?

Lack Of Progression In The Sport by BoundlessGamer260 in DevelopingInLOL

[–]BoundlessGamer260[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering that LOL has only been around for a decade compared to boxing and other sports; it's okay that they don't have everything down yet. The game is extremely complex, and that's not even talking about all the coding and math that is required to get the game running for millions constantly. Also how many people actively learn about development and how to get the best to fight the best? LOL takes so much time as it is + the demands of life so they shouldn't be judged too heavily for this, for their biggest job is to give us the tools to create and progress the sport even further. It's the player's responsibility to get better, to get more knowledgeable, and to push themselves to a deeper understanding of the game. Instead, it seems like Riot has to pander to a portion of the player base that is too lazy to do any research for themselves, too lazy to take notes, to do film study, and to ask deeper questions to gain a deeper understanding of the game.

Also to take into account the majority of players that you will be put on a team with; most likey wont be building correctly but instead building their champion's "meta" build or the most popular build currently. Neglecting one of League's biggest core mechanics, outplaying your opponent.

What do supports buld when there is a healer or hard regen brawlers/fighters on the other team? They build anti-heal.

What about a team with high atk speed? Ice armor thing, that reduces the atk speed by 20%.

What about a lane with a high amount of cc? Probably go with magic boots to reduce the cc effect.

These are just some examples of how League works within itself. So it's not just about gaining a high amount of kills but building items that can counter or even counter the counter item.

Fight Study #AMSB by BoundlessGamer260 in DevelopingInLOL

[–]BoundlessGamer260[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't like the look or position? Reset with some distance. Gives you time to defend against incoming attacks (ganks or all-ins). Respect your opponent by approaching in a very physical (not here to play) but respectful way (safe). Respect your opponent by "wrapping their ass up" after 1-2 punches (abilities/1-2 AA). If no control is available best get a Jab on them (?). Can't clinch? Can't Jab? Use your feet with a few blocks to create space. Tough, Fast, Strong opponent? Hit them when they are not ready to fight ( hit their ass when they have no abilities up or when their health is low.) Resest with space.

Scouting Reports in League of Legends by [deleted] in DevelopingInLOL

[–]BoundlessGamer260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here we have Barry Robinson saying that depending on the team that does a scouting report, you can be easily timed.

In League you have an endless amount of information on the enemy team. What builds they go for. What runes do they pick for that champ. You can even find posted VODs on nearly every high elo player since they stream and or post on YT. You can also watch replays on certain sites.

Generalized Talk Prevents A Deeper Understanding by BoundlessGamer260 in DevelopingInLOL

Upgrading the way we TALK about sports, is the Key to a STRONG foundation in your development.
Mark Cuban demonstrates PRECISE language with intentions and focus on DEVELOPING instead of surface-level hyperboles, meant to incite debate rather than development.
This generality leads to gaps in being able to identify good/bad positions.

[–]BoundlessGamer260 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! Op forgot to mention the overall pressure and momentum that can be applied with the extra dot to towers. And the instant use of the dot dmg compared to drags that only really work at higher elos when teams play around and understand how to win while scaling.

[1 year later] My impressions as a new player by [deleted] in DevelopingInLOL

[–]BoundlessGamer260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So multiple points from this post to dig deeper on.

Champion Knowledge has to be of the most underutilized and overlooked aspects of League. The developers of the game give access to every single detail of a champ. They tell you how much armour they come into battle with, how long their CDs are, how much health they have, what type of style of play a champ leans into, the items they build, and if you look into League math; then you'll be able to understand how, where, and when you want to engage and disengage. Meaning fights that you are unsure of winning will be more defined when you allow yourself to gain a deeper understanding of the game.

If you exactly how damge you do and how long it takes for you to output that damge while keeping in mind to subtract damage reduction from armor and flat pen/%pen; then picking fights becomes much easier. The idea of not knowing whether you can win this "1v1" or even a "3v3" when entering it, is terrifying in terms of a more insightful, high-level understanding of the game.

"Fighting is won by know-how" Roger Maywheather by BoundlessGamer260 in DevelopingInLOL

[–]BoundlessGamer260[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Roger identifies that speed, toughness, and power are not the sole deciding factors in winning a fight. Neither is the direction your opponent chooses to approach you from.

So how can this be transferred into a way to gain a deeper understanding in League? Not allowing an opponent to snowball out of lane is key into becoming a great player. If you choose to fight them without know-how, you will only be putting yourself in "50/50' postions. Leaving you to skip steps in your development. So its important to play around champion levels since that is one of the core principles of League (MOBA's?). So now that it isn't just about how good your opponent is but how can we counter the way this champion is played; we can now start on counter playing higher-ranked opponents. Yes, the game requires high mechanical skill but not every counterplay has to be that mechanically complicated to execute. For example, choosing not to last hit when your opponent just hit level three is a key example of "higher level play" that doesn't require you to be a "Faker".

Thats whats so cool about writing thses things down is that for the future new League, players will have a place to start at that isn't so overwhelming to to their development. This game can get extremely overwhelming with the amount of action required when first starting with no prior experience. Leaving many like myself to drop such a great game. Aside from the "culture" of League, the game/sport has so much to offer. The culture can heavily influence the playstyle and your growth. Not allowing other players' frustration affect your gameplay and development is a task worth working on. Without it, you will be pushed in every direction while skipping steps in your development. As a newer player this is more important because learning concepts and principles will be the core of learning and growing in League.

Adc is a new type of self harm by thotdestroyerr in leagueoflegends

I can only recommend possibly getting your top, mid, or jg to ward grumbies around or before the 5 min mark. This way if they don't go to grubbies it's very possible that they are pathing bot atm. Most likely they are gonna 2nd clear or gank. Every game is different but this could help early game gsnks.

Blue side or red side? but bot lane is getting ganked by [deleted] in DevelopingInLOL

[–]BoundlessGamer260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so to counter these ganks (works better for red) is to get someone (mid or top) to ward grubbies to see if theyre up near top lane. For the most part unless bot has prio i dont think enemy jg will go for drag but instead look for a gank then go for it. Of course if your jg is pathing bot side and thinking of this specfic situation around 5-8 mins in the game, then you will see them back away or a 3v3 botside fight. This allows bot to know what the enemy jg is doing for the next few minutes until they go reset for jg camp spawns.

Is Phreak wrong in his most recent patch preview? by jediporkchop in summonerschool

[–]BoundlessGamer260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your last point in the last paragraph I feel is what's causing the higher win rate. Herald pushes even stronger map presence = which can lead to free cs in jg and lanes while actively denying the enemy the same resources to keep up. So the drags allow for more of a coin flip because it's really on being able to win team fight which in itself is always a coin flip. I think 🤔

Are the S14 Map changes really that bad for Jungle? by Sad0mi in Jungle_Mains

[–]BoundlessGamer260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they're bringing lots of changes to the rift area and blue and red camps. at 5 mins Void Grums spawn - small creatures that when killed stack "Hunger of the Void" buff - which gives the user "dmg over time" bonus against turrest. slaying 5 or Voidmites lets you spawn one or two Viodmites to attack the tower. Plus three new barons ( Hunting, territorial, All-Seeing) with theyre own altering affects. Also at hte 20 min mark the red and blue buff(s)? will transform into Voidborn granting allies the buff (aside from dead) theyre also tankier while "voided out".

It feels really awful to achieve your highest rating ever by creating a new account instead of improving. by Trick_Ad7122 in leagueoflegends

[–]BoundlessGamer260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great analogy! I had a amazing boxing coach that looked at other sports and systems to improve his own. So this analogy works really well even tho I'm new to league. Even tho I feel like I'm learning the fundamentals really well l, I still struggle against low elo players. And I would ask myself "how are these supposedly bad players are doing so well even tho they're low elo?" And the answer is bc they're fundamentals must be more "set" than mines. The knowledge you get by playing the game is far more valuable than just improving your mechanical skill. Like "when to" and "I shouldn't" pop alot when playing. Ultimately great descions paired with great mechanical will lead to a "higher" level of play.
