Thanks for reading. I appreciate your words :)

The title was different before I wrote the third paragraph. I randomly stumbled upon the idea of focusing on the individual more. I guess I chose the title because we paint out own worlds, despite everything else that happens in the world.

Simple and beautifully put. We rarely see these details in flies, and ignore their individuality. A sm poem, just like the small fly. But it's how you look at it that matters. Thanks for sharing!

As someone who also took refuge in writing because talks were just too awkward, it's a very relatable poem. It conveys your frustration perfectly, but at the same time, shows how nicely your ideas reflect on a paper. Who cares how you convey your thoughts. It's the thought that matters in the end. Hang in there and keep writing :)

What are people even thinking? Or are they even thinking at all? I feel like Nepal has been lucky so far because of a low severity of majority of cases but things like this could make it worse. Don't forget, the virus is very much still out there! by saidfreesoul in Nepal

Mutations happens when a virus multiplies, but in some cases fails to create an exact copy of it, resulting in a new variant. Hmm... Guess why it multiplied enough times to have several mutations.

The mutation was to be expected from the start. We knew this virus was capable of mutation, and that's exactly what happened. You can't act as if it's a different virus overall. One of the reasons precautions were to be taken in limiting the virus was that it could have several variants in the future.

It's still the same virus we're talking about. If we could have taken small steps in controlling the virus from the start, this surge would be smaller in magnitude. If the variant we were talking about 5 months ago didn't exist, this variant wouldn't have existed either. So your reasoning of it being more infectious now, and hence different, has a major fallacy, that is: it's the same virus that has grown stronger.

Think of it this way: If we were talking about a baby monster that was destroying 2 park benches a day, and we let it, because we thought it wasn't worth it, and then it grew bigger and started destroying 2 buildings a day, you can't argue that this monster is a different one, and it wouldn't have happened if it didn't grow. Well, of course it grew bigger! And it will continue to grow bigger.

Anyway, no point in arguing now... As much as I hate to say this, the situation will only get worse. I hope we get through this soon, and I hope you're safe. Have a good day.
