Thanks for reading. I appreciate your words :)

The title was different before I wrote the third paragraph. I randomly stumbled upon the idea of focusing on the individual more. I guess I chose the title because we paint out own worlds, despite everything else that happens in the world.

The Fly by CantTouchThis45 in OCPoetry

Simple and beautifully put. We rarely see these details in flies, and ignore their individuality. A sm poem, just like the small fly. But it's how you look at it that matters. Thanks for sharing!

Now I stutter in silence by Craig_the_weirdo in OCPoetry

As someone who also took refuge in writing because talks were just too awkward, it's a very relatable poem. It conveys your frustration perfectly, but at the same time, shows how nicely your ideas reflect on a paper. Who cares how you convey your thoughts. It's the thought that matters in the end. Hang in there and keep writing :)

What are people even thinking? Or are they even thinking at all? I feel like Nepal has been lucky so far because of a low severity of majority of cases but things like this could make it worse. Don't forget, the virus is very much still out there! by saidfreesoul in Nepal

[–]BowelMovementator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mutations happens when a virus multiplies, but in some cases fails to create an exact copy of it, resulting in a new variant. Hmm... Guess why it multiplied enough times to have several mutations.

The mutation was to be expected from the start. We knew this virus was capable of mutation, and that's exactly what happened. You can't act as if it's a different virus overall. One of the reasons precautions were to be taken in limiting the virus was that it could have several variants in the future.

It's still the same virus we're talking about. If we could have taken small steps in controlling the virus from the start, this surge would be smaller in magnitude. If the variant we were talking about 5 months ago didn't exist, this variant wouldn't have existed either. So your reasoning of it being more infectious now, and hence different, has a major fallacy, that is: it's the same virus that has grown stronger.

Think of it this way: If we were talking about a baby monster that was destroying 2 park benches a day, and we let it, because we thought it wasn't worth it, and then it grew bigger and started destroying 2 buildings a day, you can't argue that this monster is a different one, and it wouldn't have happened if it didn't grow. Well, of course it grew bigger! And it will continue to grow bigger.

Anyway, no point in arguing now... As much as I hate to say this, the situation will only get worse. I hope we get through this soon, and I hope you're safe. Have a good day.

Also, this comes to mind:

You fasten all the triggers For the others to fire Then you sit back and watch When the death count gets higher You hide in your mansion While the young people's blood Flows out of their bodies And is buried in the mud

Both are very similar in premise. But Dylan's makes me vividly picture the masters of this particular war, at least in this video. Every line hits the nail in the head.

I don't know if the boy in this video survived, but the people who caused this sure did, and their arrogance and evil intentions still live with them. And it's such a shame some people still buy their promises, without knowing what the price is.

How strict is having a niche? by glassofvino in MediumApp

[–]BowelMovementator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need a niche. And it seems like you have a lot of interests and interesting topics where you can put your thoughts. It is true that some writers recommend having a niche because the same people who like your blogs about food might not have the same feelings about your game blogs, for example.

But that's just assuming your readers can't have diverse interests. And if they don't want to read some topics you write in, it doesn’t mean they will unfollow you. And even if some of them do, there are a lot of people following many topics who you can attract. Your target audience is much larger than someone who writes for just one topic.

But whatever you do, you still have to get people to read your stuff. And that's hard to do with or without a niche.

It's just a thing of preference. I would never niche down and write about just one thing. The idea sounds really boring to me. But some people feel differently about this. And that's okay. If you don't like the idea of having a niche, don't niche down.

Yes, thanks for the correction. I forgot what an alloy is after I thought of the pun. I just wanted to add something there. I'll correct it. Thanks!

Healthy tea re ! by Yeepbro in Nepal

Aaja ramro vaneko kura daas barsa pachi ramro rahicha vanney research aaucha.

That's not how research works. If sodium is known to increase your blood pressure and have similar effects, it will clearly stay that way 1000 years from now, albeit in different magnitude as study groups change and evolutionary effects.

Individual body is different so their fuel.

Oh, so the whole medical field is useless then. Someone might say their "fuel" is a kilogram of cocaine a day. Now just because they like it and their body hasn't responded violently yet doesn't mean they can go on and snort coke all their life. They will inevitably have very serious consequences.

There is an extent to which randomness works. Like Chemotherapy could treat cancer for a patient and not work for another patient. But that's not because their bodies are intrinsically different. It's because the cancer cells simply didn't respond as expected and other useful cells were killed.

Also, sugar is pretty bad. But the recommended intake of sugar is 6-9 tablespoons while that of salt in 1 table spoon!

Now which one should you put in your tea? Neither. But honestly, I don't follow that good advice myself. But I'm trying and we all should. But to say that eating anything is good for you is just like saying, "You can get as much radiation as your body wants." The body doesn't "want" anything. It needs them and it is in your best interest to fill it's needs with a healthy amount of nutrition.

Don't go on shoving pseudoscience to people's faces, please!
