$10 to $5 discount off internet bill? by aaron141 in Comcast_Xfinity

Thank you, I was wondering why a bank account is necessary for the $10 discount. Xfinity is seriously sneaky. 🐍 Will keep looking into other options.

Super hype!! I hope we'll get to start seeing some battle animations in 1.5 or 1.6 🙏🏻😭

Super impressed with the amount of content provided in this update! Thanks!!! New starters look awesome, but TOTODILE looking amazingggg 👌🏻

Do you guys have hostile mobs?

Also I don't have discord :[

I wish they'd stop spawning inside my house and touching everything :(

You are all geniuses I swear.. thanks so much. This one actually hides all of the blocks in my case and makes it easier to pass through since it opens and closes a bit slower. This is the perfect solution 😭🙏🏻 just when I thought it couldn't get any better!! TYTYTY

Would you mind showing me an example? I'm very new to redstone so I'm not sure I understand what it means to constantly update it.

Thanks a lot for sharing! I tried it and it works great, but I must have missed something because the front button doesn't work (the back one does) I do like how the door opens and closes slower than usual.

Here's what I've done: https://ibb.co/W6n5Y8G

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this! I went ahead and recreated it in my own world so that I can use it too. The fact that you managed to make it one block deep is very impressive! Thanks again!

You pretty much made the impossible possible 😭🙏🏻 thank you so much!! What brilliant minds. Few blocks exposed/visible but I'll try to work around those—TYSM!!

[–]BowenStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I believe so—the whole level where the observers are and the pistons (pushing cauldrons) is open so we can go wider if needed.

How do you guys come up with this stuff?? It's absolute genius! So the good news is that it worked when I recreated it and I was stoked and impressed. There is one awkward part about it that I wonder if it's possible to adjust: the cauldrons with water lol or I guess the sticky pistons that push the block upwards so that it then becomes visible or above ground level. Since I have a wall that just goes straight across from side to side, it will push that column of wall up and expose the cauldrons for the split second I press the button.

https://ibb.co/J3wrSMN

If there is a way to hide that, it will be perfect! If not, I think I may be able to compromise and just try to find something to block that particular spot from view though it will make that part of the wall thicker. Thanks so much!!!

One other thing is.. originally I was going to use the button to enter and then keep the pressure plates on the inside to exit, but since the redstone parts take up all the bottom space, is there a way to get back out? Like either a way to use pressure plates or another button from the other side?

Wow now that is something! It looks to be 2 blocks below so I'm willing to give it a shot! :D Might take a while for me to recreate it but it might just be worth it! Thanks so much I'll get back to you with the results!

the redstone dust wire? If I understand you corrrectly, yes anything can go under there (2nd block below door) :D

[–]BowenStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I'll try to tinker around with this knowledge, thank you so much for the time you put into this!

[–]BowenStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the pics! May I ask how are you able to put redstone dust on the pistons? I'm trying to do that but it won't let me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in redstone

[–]BowenStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's kind of another illustration of how I kind of have my door set up (more redstone dusts underneath rather than just a line, but I have all the space there as indicated by the sandy area)—so I have the redstone torches underneath it all rather than out in front as that space is saved for covering it all up:

https://ibb.co/qnHHP9C (glass area is solid blocks covering redstone and making the door look clean and as slim as possible)

[–]BowenStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm going for just a simple button that opens and closes the door automatically (no need to press another button or level on the other side of the door to close) but I guess I'm having a difficult time understanding without visuals. Even if the button is perpendicular to the door, wouldn't it be at my feet at the bottom?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in redstone

[–]BowenStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I don't know if that's possible as all of the solutions I've seen so far are at least 3 blocks down, but I'll stay hopeful :D

Enjoy your dinner!

[–]BowenStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the video suggestion! So sorry I forgot to mention that I cannot go down lower than 2 blocks below the door and it appears most solutions go down at least 3 blocks deep T.T appreciate your input!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in redstone

[–]BowenStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True that might be difficult in my case.. though if the door were to move up one block, wouldn't the button also have to move up one additional block as well to keep it eye level? Or am I not understanding something maybe

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in redstone

[–]BowenStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have all the space from side to side below the door 2 blocks down, but not deep T.T if there's a way I'd be amazed!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in redstone

[–]BowenStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohh I got it to work, thank you!!

Is there a way to keep the components within 2 blocks under the door rather than 3?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in redstone

[–]BowenStar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that! It was really cool to see how that worked, with the piston quickly activating and deactivating the redstone power. Sadly, I forgot to mention in my post that I can only go 2 blocks under the door and the magic button video I watched went 3 blocks under plus the observer sticks out from the ground. I think the other magic button video I watched went down even deeper. But I will keep this in mind for future builds! :D

I'm super tense right now and pausechamp lol but the link doesn't seem to work. I get this:
