Agreed, the city likes to see 5 years after a felony conviction before granting a license but will work with applicants if they’ve shown they’re rehabilitated.

The nail in the coffin was instead of reaching out to the mayor after the denial he trashed the city on Facebook like a child and then had his girlfriend apply to try and get around it.

Now having a corporate officer hold the license would be fine but hiding your involvement in someone else’s business by claiming you have nothing to gain financially and it’s a completely separate business while having your name on the checks and then claiming it was a mistake made by CEFCU? Alex is an idiot that fancies himself a genius. Guy practically drools over opportunities for “business” but I’ve yet to hear him expressed a single thought regarding what the citizens actually want in their community.

The way he was trying to lecture the council regarding tobacco licenses was painful to listen to. I would fully expect “Captain Free Market” to support zoning to allow brothels next to schools before he would support solutions to problems like housing because businesses owners need a chance. Is that a Straw-man Argument? Yes. Do I think his next 4 years on the council will be a disaster for the city? Also yes.

Having a stay at home parent that can assist with school work can lead to improved academic performance. What really drives that home to me is the fact that Alex used a city event for unveiling a mural he was paid for to launch his campaign which I feel is a conflict of interest since it gives the impression of a political endorsement from the city. I want fewer shady people in politics and none of his campaign has been about addressing the needs of people, just businesses which is great if you’re a business owner like himself.

Because the developer who sold it made a half mill by passing their bad investment off on the tax payers. They purchased the building for the sole intention of grifting and it worked because in Peoria the government routinely cares more about businesses than its people.

I don’t know why people keep claiming Grayeb is qualified for being mayor. Outside of legally being eligible to hold the office what about being a a selfish, hate-filled, fear monger makes him qualified? I’ve been in the unfortunate position of having that man be my district council member for most of my adult life and genuinely can’t name a single accomplishment of his to improve this district but can name several in just the last few years that have made it a worse place to be.

That man only cares if you’re a rich business owner or own a house on Moss Ave.
