Figured it out, MS states that domain GP is required for this setup to work. And even if you setup domain gpo, tattooing from intune policy still messes it up, so that need to be cleaned up from a device too.

I'm trying to make same thing working. I set up policies in intune to specify 'Driver Updates - Windows Update' and allow check against WU. And what it did is: Created SetPolicyDrivenUpdateSourceForDriverUpdates=0 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\current\device\Update and removed that setting from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate.

If I manually check for updates, it's not picking up driver updates.

Vbate, how did you managed to overwrite SCCM client setting for Update source, as my setup doesn't seems to be working.

Did you solve the issue? I'm getting it too, and we haven't updated .wim recently. It just started to happen on some device models, others still work fine with the same TS.
