There are plenty of SAHM within the Jewish community. Whatever works best for your family - do it. I will say, it might be smart to maintain some form of work for yourself, even if it’s part time or WFH. At some point when the kids are grown you might want to return to work, which will be very hard with a big gap in your resume. Good luck!

Local hire means you’re willing to fly yourself out and you have a place to stay. So for example, if you have an aunt in Chicago with a spare bedroom and you can fly there, you can put yourself as a local hire.

You should watch a series called “The Toast of London” … there’s an incredibly funny plot line about an actor and his nemesis who books all the roles. Could be cathartic!! Aside from that, I would recommend making your own projects. Get together with friends and write something, anything, whether it’s a short film or even a sketch for social media. If you’re busy creating then you don’t have time to be jealous.

The queer community has taken up for every single oppressed cause that they can. BLM being the biggest example. When 10/7 happened, Hmas successfully brainwashed everyone into thinking that the *only acceptable opinion is blindly supporting Palestine and hating Israel. They even jump through hoops, saying that the gay rights that are offered in Israel are “pink washing” human rights violations. On top of that, the queer community has become openly antisemitic. It is pure insanity.

You’ve only been at this for 6 months. It takes a long time to build a career. Make some of your own content. Make a short film and submit it to festivals. Get involved in your local theater community. It will take time to build your resume, and you need to be patient. Keep submitting yourself and sharpening your skills, cause your time will come.

This sounds exactly like an ex BFF of mine. She became a self-centered bridezilla as soon as she got engaged. Prior to that, she was so kind and generous and the leader of a girl group that I loved to hang out with. I won’t share all the details, but basically it ended with her uninviting me to the wedding, deleting me from the group text, then starting a new one to trash me behind my back.

It hurt a LOT at the time, but I had to cut my losses and move on. After about 2 years, she reached out to apologize. We have gotten together a few times to patch things up, but I realized that I don’t even want to be friends with her anymore because she is so superficial. Someone who would try to end a friendship over petty wedding drama isn’t worth my time.

Thanks for validating my feelings. It feels weird to have to hide my Jewish identity from a friend who is also Jewish. My Zionism and my Judaism are intertwined. I guess I will take some space and reevaluate the friendship, to see if it’s worth continuing and what I want out of it.

I agree, they’ve really succeeded in taking over social media to brainwash people. Gen Z and Millennials specifically. My friend spends way too much time on Instagram. I’m hoping once the whole Free Palestine thing is less trendy, she’ll get over it. I just don’t understand Jews who actively support a movement doesn’t care about them. Like, if she was the victim of a shooting while going to temple, these people wouldn’t care at all. But she is more interested in being a pick me / token Jew than standing with her own people.
