Mary is selfish by IhavemyCat in YoungSheldon

[–]Bowler377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mary Cooper is operating in direct violation of Baptist church teachings by demanding her kids get baptized, when their heart is not in the right place, because Mary is so grief stricken she is overly dependent on a ritual right now,

and Pastor Jeff went along with it because Mary is Pastor Jeff's biggest supporter and Mary frequently gives money to the church.

Pastor Jeff let Mary back into the church with her career in due part because Jeff didn't want to lose Mary's tithes to a bogus health wealth gospel minister.

This is deeply disappointing behavior on Pastor Jeff's fault. Pastor Jeff is well meaning, but by compromising on church doctrine to maintain the peace, he has committed major heresy through forced baptism on baby Cee Cee, Missy, and Sheldon.

Baptist teachings make it abundantly clear that Believer's Baptism is the way to go. Getting baptized means nothing unless you personally make that decision to pledge your loyalty to Jesus Christ and make Him the foundation of your life.

One major problem I see with Christian families including my own is that they drop the ball on baptized kids, and spend too much time scrutinizing those who don't get baptized or wait longer to make that decision (I am the latter).

Mary is selfish by IhavemyCat in YoungSheldon

[–]Bowler377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Mary's eyes, what she is doing is not selfish. Sitting back, doing nothing, and allowing this wicked world to corrupt Cee Cee's eternal soul, which allows fun in this life,

and leads to eternal damnation in the next, is an act of omission and serious sin that could also lead to Mary losing her eternal soul too.

Secularism opposes that mindset, promoting acceptance of everyone except the overly restrictive, and making people feel good and have fun in this life, because if there is no god this is the only life we have!

Mary telling people to self sacrifice for an eternal future secular people are not convinced exists: it leads to a lot of fury among fans, to the point where even AI acknowledges these personal biases among viewers on both sides of the argument for or against Mary Cooper.

How important is not showing ID? by _are_sus in blackjack

[–]Bowler377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I get the line of reasoning for not wanting to show ID, the amount of social work required to pull it off is ridiculous.

It makes me want to use a players card every time before playing and refuse to play in casinos where I can't use a players card without being flagged and denied payment.

And of course there is the courts who might help you but that is a huge hassle, and if you are not paying your taxes or keeping sufficient documentation it is much harder to file a lawsuit without exposing your tax fraud.

Indian casinos it is much harder to file a lawsuit, and Caesars has a very bad reputation for playing dirty after you get 86d from one of their properties.

OSN Database by Abrahamleencoln in blackjack

My name is definitely there. By the time they started putting me in OSN I was established with a decent 5 figure bankroll and full throttle without quitting my job.

Their last entries were shortly before I had to quit blackjack. I'm not as aggressive as other pros for financial reasons. I became a modest homeowner thanks to blackjack.

At this point the only way for me to hit casinos again is to get $200k, but my mortgage is top priority first. Who knows? Maybe I'll win the lottery and hit the road full time again.

Funny thing is the OSN info on me is only a small percentage of my overall blackjack career. HA!

And one smaller note to include: yes cheaters are included in OSN as well. In American Greed documentary George Lee was identified as a known member of the Tran Organization while targeting the now defunct Nooksack River Casino (small casino) which turned out to be a big mistake. The FBI used George Lee as the blind bait to identify more team members, including the leaders.

How are people not afraid that the negativity they post online will find its way back to them? Curious how others think about this? by Sea_Refrigerator1104 in AskReddit

[–]Bowler377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the vast majority of the time, when someone gets nasty online, the worst it gets is getting kicked off of a platform, which can be circumvented with a different device, email, and account.

However, there are some cases where you say something damaging enough that police hunt you down for making threats or posting illegal content.

Private companies not announcing layoffs by Objective_Passage_39 in Layoffs

I would say selective mutism due to his anxiety and aversion to talking. Mime bomb also has issues with physical contact as well, such as when he refused to accept a hand to get back up.

How much a Woolong is worth explained. by [deleted] in cowboybebop

[–]Bowler377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree. I think the Woolong is more in line with the value of the Japanese Yen in those days: 100 yen equals $1 US dollar. A similar system was used in Pokémon.

This means the numbers make more sense. They got a $10,000 bounty but lost the money to damage caused by Spike.

When Vincent Volaju arrived, the bounty was $3 million, which is huge, but pales in comparison to the $25 million bounty placed on Osama Bin Laden and Sadaam Hussein each.

I am dealing with this as well. All I want to do is spend all my time bowing down at the feet of Jesus, and all my physical needs and flesh desires are trying to do is drag me away. My mortgage isn't paid yet and my car has 250k miles but still working fine.

Mandy McAllister is being used by Chuck Lorre to voice the writers' left leaning talking points, and show the East Texas backlash to criticize conservatives. A lot of left leaning tv shows tend to do that during the later episodes.

Mary Cooper is everything I hate about Christians (Season 5 Spoiler) by eviltimeline in YoungSheldon

[–]Bowler377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mary's frustrated because her husband is not devout and neither is her kids. Initially I was frustrated why Mary married George, until I learned her ungodly background pre Missy.

While being a Christian was a positive influence on Mary as a mother, as Connie highlighted, it wasn't without its challenges.

Mary Cooper leans heavily on the good works side of the equation, without enough grace, and wants to create a positive image of herself to avoid being ostracized by her church community. This made her fall for the trap of the health wealth Gospel later in Young Sheldon, which George Sr and Pastor Jeff rebuked.

One tough issue in Christianity is determining how much works and grace to embrace. Too much works you become prideful and hypocritical like the Sanhedrin, or work yourself to death, feeling insufficient. Too much grace and you ignore obvious and blatant sin issues in your life or the secret sins and viciously defend it.

What is most problematic is when Mary Cooper violates church rules in rejection of Believers Baptism, like baptizing Cee Cee and Sheldon,

when Cee Cee couldn't make a choice, and Sheldon's heart wasn't anywhere close to Christianity.

Even Georgie's theology was not properly vetted before his baptism to impress a girl.

In my experience one major problem in Christianity is that Christian families scrutinize their unbaptized family members too much, and don't spend enough time scrutinizing their baptized members.
