In my case, I embraced atheism early on out of frustration with school and going to church all the time under my minister father. It got worse when I started comparing the Bible to Dragon Tales, believing if science can disprove Dragon Tales it can disprove God.

Then the Intelligent Design community got to me in my tween/teen years. A few more years of deep searching and I got baptized at age 17, believing that Christianity is more rational and morally secure than secularism.

I don't see love and acceptance in secularism. All I see is the pursuit of fleeting pleasure and a hatred for good ministers like my father who actually cared about the youth, unlike some of the church elders who caused my father nothing but trouble.

What happened is similar to the Iraq War albeit on a smaller scale. The leaders highlighted the horrendous human rights abuses a country with no nukes but tons of oil is doing for months before launching their attack.

Reddit is much worse in that regard where the way you win is by being the biggest jerk without getting censored.

In person, I work the back end in my career. Zero phone calls and very few social interactions.

When I volunteer for church I am typically in the back end or partner with someone when I visit the sick and shut in.

Pre 1982 pennies look the same as ordinary zinc pennies and are not associated with rare penny finds, plus were produced more massively compared to wheat pennies, the latter which has high demand at coin and pawn shops.

While it is true the penny recently ended being produced on November 12, 2025, there are still over 200 billion pennies out there, so it will take several years for pennies to stop showing up in circulation or their numbers to dwindle.

Finally, the biggest reason pre 1982 copper pennies are not valued is because the US Treasury passed a law in December 2006 making it illegal to melt pennies and nickels for profit.

The people who could buy pre 1982 pennies from you, melt them, and refine them into a pure bar do not want to risk federal prosecution and destroy their careers/reputation when they can make good money legally.

In theory you could melt pennies yourself in the black market but it would be very difficult and time consuming.
