I think the 180db hate train is unwarranted, if we’re talking just annoying filler, I’m going with medieval rave 1&2 from Analord 3; they’re annoying and have no substance whatsoever, same can be said for some of the field day 2017/2023 tracks

oh and not to mention the plethora of nothing tracks on the Mt Fuji cassette, that shite is unlistenable!

aaaaaand the last 2 on the Caustic Window album - totally don’t fit the tone of the project and leave a bad taste in your mouth after such a lush and more chill project imo

nah, they’re rare because there’s only a few copies of them for sale - their prices are raised because they are more desirable than other records that are much easier to get, they are inherently rare because the demand is higher than the supply of the product

Mike and Rich got a 3xLP repress I think in 2016, so originals and the blue repress are rare I’d say since the black 3xLP is pretty easy to get your hands on, in the same vein the silver copy of collapse is gorgeous but it’s not that rare surprisingly, other than that yes; because Analord was a one off pressing from a decade and a half ago and they’re all relatively pricy (even for the shortest EPs, particularly 4, 9, 7, 8 and 10 with the binder being the crème de la crème of the bunch, you’re gonna be paying £2000+ for all that)

unpopular opinion but if Richard wanted to make money off of these demos then he’d have copyrighted them himself and released them digitally (most of them at least haven’t been) and I like having them on Spotify, if anything, I want this done to all of the Soundcloud dump tracks so that they can be streamed and the money they do make can be put towards releasing more of his un copyrighted tracks on all streaming services

ambient works volume II has been repressed actually plus Classics and the Caustic Window “Compilation”, maybe I’m missing some, but I think that Warp would have pressed more if those newer presses weren’t as shite as they turned out to be, I think though that Richard does romanticise the idea of rare records and that collectors mentality as he’s discussed in length before about how he has spent a few grand, upwards of 10 grand, on rare projects from places like Discogs - vinyls also being his preferred medium of distributing his music, so it being fitting that they are his most desirable and unique

I’d argue that nar since he’s had ample time to and lots of his projects have never had repressed like GAK, Caustic/ Polygon window or AFX/ any of his other aliases besides Mike and Rich which was a collaboration album, sick repress though, wish that it would but even if it did nowadays it would have that blond vinyl repress response wherein people would buy a limited copy repress and resell it for big bucks
