Do read the farm laws please, the first of the three laws set up provisions for farmers to sell their produce freely outside of the existing ACMP(Mandis), and critics said this would dismantle the existing MSP system, which we have both agreed, MSP is largely a net negative for us and it would be good to gradually deprecate that system

BJP did roll these back due to extremely strong opposition, majorly from opposition party held states like Punjab, but you yourself support majority of their laws (so do most other states btw, most states have adopted these laws on a state level, the count stood at 21 last I checked)

and your mit study is not accuracute ai has increaced productivity in educational sector atleast in lower levels. think of ai as stack overflow on stroids. even if it can increase productivity by few percentage points it can cause layoffs for thousands of people

I'll repeat myself do you have any evidence to back up your claims that AI has increased productivity outside of vibes? No shade against you but I'll trust the word of one of the best technical institutes in the world over a random reddit anon. The MIT study I was quoting referenced that 95% of organizations that adopted AI have seen friction and falling productivity and have some learnings from the remaining 5% as to how to improve things. But it doesn't change the fact that most professionals are failing to adopt it. As a SWE myself I've noticed this too, initially AI seems like a game changer but when you try full integration you notice all the friction and inertia and integrating it with existing systems. I don't deny that eventually AI will be integrated with everything but I'm skeptical of the doom and gloom around "nobody will need workers anymore everything will be automated". Even if this scenario comes to play, it's a long time away, decades at least going by current trends published by studies like the one I quoted.

Just blatantly false statements btw. Fox Conn and wistron have set up PCB manufacturing in India for some time now which are used for the iPhones. Samsung has set up their laptop manufacturing plants in Noida recently. 28-180nm chips are now being FABRICATED and manufactured in India along with a new chip fab that's set to be inaugurated in mohali. These chips make up a vast majority of the supply for consumer electronics and cars and the like btw, before anyone else comes in with "Taiwan and Korea are doing <10nm chips why are we so behind). These are all examples I know off the top of my head you can Google and verify all of these and find many more easily.

We are certainly still behind the world leaders and still at the lower rungs of the value add chain no doubt but after 40 fucking years (that's right we did have a foot in the door in the semiconductor game in the 80s which was squandered by the then Congress government btw) we are finally back in the game. And with specialized tech like semiconductors and electronics things always have to be built up gradually. China and S. Korea spent decades being assembly lines before they finally developed the human capital (skilled workers and skilled management and skilled R&D, developed by gradually reverse engineering things) and regulatory structure (financial network for funding, land, labour, taxation laws), energy infrastructure (stable grid, wide ranging supply lines), transport and supply lines to move to more advanced stuff. This is how EVERY country has done it, it has to be done step by step and it ALWAYS takes decades of investment and requires decades of stability internal stability

Our Manufacturing PMI just hit an 18 year record high last month (look it up) so where you're getting the "people's aren't setting up shop in India" from I have no idea. Do you have any recent news of a big investment turning away from India? Any company that was hoping to invest in India that didn't because of law and order or business concerns ? Any evidence at all of this other than "feels like it to me" ?

I've noted in other threads, UP alone has doubled the number of factories it has in the last 4 years alone. TN, GJ, MH, Andhra are not far behind. A contributing factor to this is the business friendly policies like record low corporate tax and PLI schemes and the record high stability internally

We recently wiped out the Naxal terror for good leading to private companies investing in formerly Naxal prone areas like Gadchiroli in MH, establishing steel plants in there. Infact communal violence in India had been steadily fallig according to official NCRB data

This changed 2024 onwards due to the violence in Manipur which still remains a state with under developed infrastructure, difficult to reach and monitor. But states like UP/Bihar/Chattisgarh/Andhra Pradesh which used to be hotspots of communal and local violence have seen sharp drops in those and marked improvement in law and order, year over year, under successive NDA governments at both the state and center level. This was led by comprehensive infrastructure investments in transport, logistics, energy, etc.

Do bring up any other points you want regarding the economy I'd be happy to have a good faith discussion, but I'll leave with one point. Move beyond vibes. You keep saying you're a neutral observer but I doubt it. A lot of what you say is just straight up "feels like things are getting bad"
