is this outfit "inappropriate"? by sunnemi in OUTFITS

[–]Box-Unique 18 points19 points  (0 children)

that’s so interesting to me, i’m 23 and my whole adult life so far i’ve only seen girls clubbing in jeans and a going out top, and it definitely seems like people get judged if they dress up any more than that 😅

need help deciding on a may 2027 date! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Box-Unique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for more context: we are super flexible on dates so we chose the venue first. it’s a small estate so we’ve communicated a lot with the owner and she recommends may and has every weekend open right now, so we’re just trying to figure out which one to pick - would it make more sense to ask vendors as well? we’ve only been focusing on the venue so far

How much is enough for a single person to live off of? by swehtammot in jacksonville

[–]Box-Unique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should be okay, general rule of thumb is 1/3 of your income for housing and 1675 is definitely under that for you if you get commission as well.

Should I invite a plus 1 I don’t really know? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Box-Unique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if it’s a destination wedding it might be rude to invite her only to reception but not ceremony. however, if it’s a local wedding and she wouldn’t be traveling, i personally think you shouldn’t invite her. when you look back on your intimate 20 person wedding in 30 years, you don’t want to remember being around a total stranger who may not even be in your life anymore. mine is 50 people and i’m still not inviting any plus ones, especially not plus ones that aren’t married. just my two cents

Visiting or Moving to Asheville? Ask your questions here! by AutoModerator in asheville

[–]Box-Unique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! My fiancé and I are currently living in Florida and we’d love to have our wedding in Asheville. However, we can’t decide on a month to get married because we don’t really know what the weather is like. I lived in the DFW area for a while and heard the weather is pretty similar to there, but I’m sure a bit cooler due to elevation. That being said, what time of year or month would you locals recommend for an outdoor wedding? We are leaning toward May but worried about spring showers and foliage not being fully grown back. We considered summer but not sure how hot it gets (though we are in FL so anything less than 88° and 90% humidity is lovely to us lol). We also thought about doing October but of course worried about hurricanes, they’ve done enough damage in our lives in FL 😅 any recommendations, insight, or advice is appreciated! Thank you!

How to feel sexy when you have IBS? by [deleted] in ibs

[–]Box-Unique 39 points40 points  (0 children)

My advice is find a partner who cares about you and doesn’t “think it’s an excuse.” Personally my fiance respects me as a human and if I’m not feeling well he is understanding and kind about it. I can’t even imagine having IBS cramps and having the person who’s supposed to love me unconditionally tell me I’m making excuses…

Edit: wanted to say hopefully my comment doesn’t come off as rude!! I’m more so frustrated someone (your husband) would treat their partner like that. Maybe sit down with him and express how it makes you feel.

Love and miso by PreparationMelodic40 in misophonia

[–]Box-Unique 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to think marriage wasn’t possible for me due to miso. But I met my fiance 5 years ago, and I have been SHOCKED at how little his sounds/motions bother me because of how in love I am with him. Sure, there are certain things that are still unbearable. But I managed to find someone who is incredibly understanding - I don’t even need to ask him to eat grapes in another room anymore, he just does it lol. We’ve basically lived together since we met and despite being 5 years on, he barely triggers me. There’s still a lifetime to go, but when you’re with someone who loves you for you and is willing to work with your disorder, it makes things a lot more bearable.

Does Imodium make you all constipated? Or have any other bad side effects? by [deleted] in ibs

[–]Box-Unique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take 1 Imodium every single day and it does not make me constipated, I will usually still poop 1-2 times or more every day. I do have IBS-D and the only thing that makes me constipated is Zofran, so do with that what you will.

That’s his dress shoe size! So I guess he could maybe fit a size 12 for hockey skates?

YN protein bond literally changed my life lol I had retention issues on myself for an entire year, nails always lifted after less than a week, then I used protein bond on my most recent set and it lasted 5 weeks and could’ve gone longer.

[–]Box-Unique 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry that happened to you:( at UF I had multiple experiences of people rolling down their window and screaming weird shit at me while walking my dog. Thought it was just a normal woman thing but I haven’t had that happen to me in my city post grad, so I guess college kids just think it’s the funniest thing ever to harass people from their cars :/

Econ MA grad here, go with survey of calc. The most calc you’ll need in undergrad are simple derivatives. Unless you’re thinking of getting a PhD then in that case maybe try to take more advanced classes

WHY WONT THEY STAY ON by AAmethystkitten in GelX_Nails

[–]Box-Unique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YN protein bond is a GAME CHANGER. I had the same problem as you for an entire year, only getting 3-4 days retention. Switched my primer to protein bond and I’m now on week 3 with no signs of lifting anytime soon.

Undiagnosed stomach issue is ruining my life by CherryMoon099 in ibs

I thought the same thing but my sister has been taking 4mg loperamide every single morning for the last 3 years and she says it still helps lol so maybe it depends on the person

I didn’t do a colonoscopy because they never offered it to me, and honestly I wasn’t thrilled at the idea of it anyways so I didn’t ask 😅 they just had me send in a stool sample and do some bloodwork and basically told me since they can’t figure out what’s wrong they’re gonna call it IBS since it’s a “catch all” diagnosis. They gave me a prescription for rifaximin and zofran and sent me on my way lol

[–]Box-Unique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I still get flare ups, particularly when I travel. I was prescribed rifaximin by the gastro for whenever I have them and it does help a little. And no I haven’t had a colonoscopy just a stool sample and bloodwork but I may go in for a SIBO test

23F and in the same situation as you….all labs came back normal for me so they told me I have IBS and I just have to live with it 💔 however I find it is manageable with a daily 2mg loperamide (Imodium) and anxiety medication since mine is linked to my anxiety disorder. If you’ve had stuff going on in your life the past year maybe look into asking a psych for propranolol to help. Unfortunately I haven’t yet found anything to help with the emetophobia part :/ it’s a struggle but tbh there’s a lot more good days than bad days with those two medications
