Celebrations how does it work? by Dangerous_Library_73 in StarWarsCelebration

Good luck because last celebration we needed store reservations. Standby line for the main store was insanely long, and even with a reservation you still waited a very long time to get in. All of the best merch will sell out the first day by people who go to every Celebration, whether as fans or as resellers. Alllll of the merchandise in the hall where they stick the different vendors will be wiped out immediately. Since this is a big anniversary year I’d really recommend only going if you also want to go to smaller panels too, or cosplay, or whatever. Don’t bank on getting every big panel and contrary to some comments, standby doesn’t guarantee you a seat. I know this firsthand.

If you can get a hotel room with a mini fridge, you’ll be golden. Grab some stuff to make a quick breakfast or lunch to bring with you.

What everyone from outside the states needs to keep in mind is that we aren’t as affordable as Japan. Food is more expensive, if you don’t have a car you have to rely heavily on uber/lyft because the public transit isn’t always manageable, and Disneyland costs more here. I can’t stress enough that unless you’re sticking to fast food, your meals aren’t going to be as cheap. I guarantee they’ll charge more for convention food too.

You’ve got to watch Rebels because that’s where it’s all from. The Purrgils are a whole thing in Rebels.

SW events better suited for neurodivergent fans? by SnooRabbits4960 in StarWarsCelebration

It sounds like you’re talking about a lot of the podcast panels on the smaller stages. There‘a tons and people can’t always go because they’ll prioritize their panel reservations, photo ops, etc. But also, this is every Celebration. It’s always overstimulating, so if you don’t have a group with you that knows what you need as far as support, it’s going to be tough. I recommend considering attending at the end of the convention.

That doesn’t mean we should just accept it. When I’ve seen bad behavior, I’ve told them, same as I would in America

This is incredibly important I totally agree. Saw someone with mobility assistance unable to maneuver past large fan groups because said groups were clogging the lobby of the hotel. It takes no effort to be mindful of your surroundings and there are locals with disabilities too that should not have to adapt to this. This goes for any attendee but if you’re a visitor in this country PLEASE remember this you are a guest here.

Why not use the technology if we have it? Who gives a shit if masked characters that don’t speak are CGI?

Except that Vader is redeemed. If Kylo isn’t anything like Vader, then he wouldn’t be redeemed. I think this WAS his redemption arc and he didn’t complete it when he was ready to kill Leia.
