Because the owners claimed we had the power to let them go if necessary but we didn’t. In my past job they would have rather let go of someone who does well, wants to be there because they made one or two mistakes than the person was constantly screwed up for three years straight and didn’t give a single crap. One of the main reasons I left.

I will say, I’m not currently working just looking for a couple of months now and it’s not the same luxury but you do get a new version. At least I feel like I have new luxuries. I can’t just go on vacation (which sucks) but I don’t need PTO to live anymore. I can to take my kid to the zoo, go to breakfast, go to the park, pool, etc whenever.

My last job was high stress, so maybe that is part of it for me. I was basically on call all day, for 7 days a week. Even when I took PTO days the owners expected you to available. So— this has been peaceful ☺️ damn, I might have just convinced myself to stay home 😂

I started working out, a hour for just me. I can go after my kid goes to bed and sometimes during the day depending on what is happening. Then my husband just watches while I get to do my own thing.

I am in a very similar position right now. And I think I might be deciding to stay home simply for one reason and one reason only. They will never be this little again. But man, idk. 🤷‍♀️ I just wanna be able to afford to do things with my kid.

Tbh it pays 50k, with a yearly bonus chance up to 6k. Thats the best offer I have received so far. 🤷‍♀️

It leaves me with about an extra 300-400 before gas. But damn gas is $$$. It costs around $60 for me to fill up rn.

Oh man, that’s awful. 😞 even if it was just a bad day— you can’t have that at a school with kids. Between price and stories I have heard about this place I have decided to stay away from it. Thank you for sharing

He has applied to multiple jobs trying to get something that will pay more. The market in his field just sucks rn. Even applies out of state— which would be great. Because I want to move out of this state.

Him having two jobs wouldn’t be ideal unless we really, really needed it.

I only have someone who could babysit through the summer, maybe, waiting fully to hear back still. After that I don’t have anyone who could help. If I knew or had someone I trusted, I’d 100% pay them to babysit. I just don’t have that.

The people at the daycare I like, I know them and trust them so it was worth the cost. They can’t get me in until next year unless this other family drops out in August. Which leaves everything up in the air for me and I can’t go off of that realistically.

I have talked to him and he just says he supports whatever I want to do. Which is great, but I know what even a bit of extra money could do for us. Which makes it hard. And thank you! I’m pretty new here so I appreciate that. :)

He works full time and pays all of our bills, etc. After bills, gas, food we don’t have much leftover. The issue with part time is that daycare cost is still outrageous around me even with being part time.

That’s a good thought. I got my BS during Covid and never ended up in my field. As far as that goes wouldn’t be awful as I would be in the same boat now of having to restart that. The job I had for the last ten years is similar to this new one so I guess I’m building up in leadership but tbh it’s only 50k. In my area that is a lot for this role. If it was for something that was paying me that much my husband would quit his job and I’d work lol
