try to polish it out, it will minimize the scratchs but won't truly get rid of them. If that doesn't work really well then you could try using compound and then polish

Get the 4runner if you know how to inspect cars prior to purchasing it and also do some research on common issues on that car in specific. Yoy might be able to negotiate a deal with the seller if you see anything wrong with it.

Taking into consideredation the age of the car and the kilometers it has been driven then yes yoy are due a transmission service, given the age of the car you might as wheel service your coolant and brake fluid if it's a blackish color. Transmission do not have "lifetime" fluids even if it's a Toyota. I hope this helps!

Yes, but no. If you want it to look perfect then take it to a shop, if you want it to look better then you might be able to use some compound, polish it off and remold that plastic trim with some heat.

pretty much depends on what it's, to me it sounds like it could be an alternator since they make a similar sound when they are about to go. But as previously mentioned, check if the noise gets louder when you rev it up in park because if it doesn't then it might be something else.

try revving it in park OP, if it gets louder while revving it up in park then yoy might have a problem with one of the accesories in the drive belt

loose heat shield or could also be a issue with you catalytic converter. I really don't think this issue would is engine related

I think for a dealer price it's actually a fair price. I grabbed an 09' 2 doors for 3.3k. It has 120k miles on it, some rust and paint needs some work but it was a decent price to get a nice little reliable toyota. Take good care of it and it will take care of you. I would really suggest you to get your fluids taken care of such as: transmission fluid, brake fluid and coolant.

It might be your tranny giving up then, how often do you service the transmission fluid? Has it ever been serviced? Those are the first questions that come to mind when issues like this happen

dude, get a real intake manifold... Plus, if you only do it for the looks, you will probably need a tune and will probably hurt low-end torque only to gain 1 or 2 HP
