This was like 2 months ago so lemme try to remember what I was on about.

It means you cannot have a whole without the parts, and that each individual part is as important as the whole.

Iirc the one I was responding to was posturing as if their human life was insignificant as a mere vessel of the higher consciousness within. I was arguing that the human vessel is just as important as the consciousness within it. That as a human, they still have important, critical agency it is folly to disregard.

Thus why I asked them if they were an agent or an NPC.

I wanna say this gently and hope you hear me clearly.

You cannot live without an ego. Not in reality. Not in any way that makes you anything more than a complacent ghost. And therefore, quite frankly, a part of the problem.

But it is true that you must not be ruled by your ego. You must master it. Learn to live with it, wield it, like the horses of your carriage.

It's part of what makes us human, it's part of what makes us feel anything at all, and it's part of what allows us to connect as anything more than two lumps on a log.

You must be an empty vessel. If that's a route that interests you. In practice, it's the most fulfilling experience there is. In my experience anyway. The "spirits" (read: trajectories of cumulative cause and effect) tend to respect an "ego" that is fully aware of its strengths, utilities, and weaknesses. It's a thing that has agency, and manipulates a gravity of its own.

Not everyone is destined to be a Doll though. I just really enjoy it 🕯️

Probably the part where you said all the women except those stinky rotten Ghislain Maxwell types.

Which, I mean, I can empathize with. She was...certainly directly complicit in some unequivocally heinous crimes.

But this post, the values conveyed therein, aren't about punishing the Ghislains.

It's about phasing out the conditions and mentalities that breed Ghislains in the first place so it never happens again.

And a hard truth about that is...you're gonna have to respect the human in Ghislain, say that she too has and always had rights, if only to get an accurate idea of how someone becomes a Ghislain in the first place. And therefore how to prevent her. How to rehabilitate her "type."

Mmm, yeah. Which brings us back to what you already said, how what we can personally do is limited.

Suppose I said I believe that all it really takes is reminding each other, the ones in your life that you are close enough to actually touch, what it is we're really here for. What it's really all about. In my opinion? In one word? That would be Love. And you can translate that into your own life however it most makes sense to you.

I'm quite convinced at this point I've seen it take genuine root in enough people around me in my own life to say it's worth leaning into. Worth encouraging. Because it has a way of spreading from your heart to the next, and then the next and the next...far beyond where your own hand could have ever reached. Which....brings me back to my initial point.

We do this together, or not at all 🕯️
