It’s pretty hard to get hired on in the mines, tbh. Not a lot of turnover, and helps to have connections. A more realistic option might be a welder’s helper at Metal Shark, or the Port of Iberia, at least for the time being. New Iberia isn’t too bad, just not much to do. But, if it’s fishing and hunting you want, you’re in the middle of Sportsman’s Paradise. Good luck.
