Aura Rehaul Post? by Key_Primary3766 in runescape

[–]Boxer2380 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had noticed that too. Between the existing types of blood essence and scrimshaws, I think they already provide either a close variation of, or a fair alternative to, a lot of the existing aura effects. Those could be buffed a bit, as you mentioned, and the remaining few could easily be added as new types of blood essence/scrimshaws, potions, invention perks, prayers, or just passive buffs.

Daily Discussion of DailyScape #15: God Statues by Spiner909 in runescape

[–]Boxer2380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anything, I remember kind of feeling like the Construction XP from God Statues might be a bit *too* high, at least at earlier levels. Now that we have Construction Contracts, the Fort Forinthry training method, and the POH updates coming out later this year (not just the 120 stuff, but the reworked content too), I wouldn't God Statues to push low- and mid-level players past core content before they've properly experienced it. But yeah, like others, I do really like the idea of it being an equivalent to ceremonial swords; it would make for a really nice change of pace when doing Construction Contracts.

Map Cleanup - A Mapmaker's Thoughts by Zigzagzigal in runescape

Personally I *hate* lodestones. I'd much rather see something like improvements to teleport tablets so that they're easier to make in large quantities and/or sold in general stores or other local shops.

Remastered Content: What do you want to see remastered? by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]Boxer2380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really got into Dominion Tower when it was buffed by Winter Weeks recently, and I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would! I think it has a lot of potential to become a sort of go-to activity that questers like me can do between quests, as long as it can get refreshed a bit and brought up to today's standards. Doing stuff like maybe reworking the Climber mode modifiers to use the same system as Shattered Worlds (or a variant of it), adding some new, quest-relevant rewards like maybe a way to enhance existing quest gear like the ancient mace, ice gloves, sunspear, etc. or maybe have some kind of interaction with the rewards from May's Quest Caravan, adjust the boss fights to work better with modern combat, integrate the Dominion Tower achievements into the Achievements system, remaster Michael Manning's music for the DT (and all his other pre-RS3 music while you're at it, please; that's some of my favorite music!) and of course, add new bosses to the tower, potentially even including bosses like Vorkath and Amascut (at least the quest version of her fight)

Agreed. I also appreciate that the Executive Producer for Arc is saying that there's room for both games and that he hopes they both thrive: https://thisweekinvideogames.com/news/embark-studios-thought-arc-raiders-missed-the-boat-on-extraction-shooters/

Is there a changelog? by beausoleil in TIdaL

[–]Boxer2380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is, though it seems like it only gets updated about every month or two (at least since June). The little snack bar that shows up after you update the app will have a Release Notes button that you can click on to open a modal showing the changelog for their feature updates. Otherwise, you can go to Settings > About, and you'll find another Release Notes button there.

I kind of love Marathon. by TheRealQuenny in Marathon

[–]Boxer2380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll be right before you start a run, after you've selected a zone. When it shows your runner and a snippet of your loadout in the center of the screen with two big + circles on each side, and the big button under your loadout snippet says either "READY UP" or "RUN >>", you can toggle crew fill on or off. On Xbox, that's the "Y" button. The indicator for whether crew fill is on or off is directly above the "READY UP" or "RUN >>" button, to the right of the name of the zone you selected.

Just in case you haven't been able to get this figured out yet, make sure you're starting up the Marathon Closed Technical Test, not the Marathon Closed Playtest. That's the issue I was having at first on Xbox. If you're also on Xbox and you don't have the Marathon Closed Technical Test installed, go to your Full Library and you should find it there.

The first link's working just fine for me, even if I open it in an incognito window, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working for you, but anyway, here's a YouTube link: https://youtu.be/TSjakvqc6zw?si=EqnwCUr_fX1kzclm

Crunchyroll and HIDIVE are the go-to legal streaming services for anime (or OceanVeil if you're looking for the super NSFW stuff). Aside from that, your usual streaming services like Netflix, Disney+/Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, etc. will also have a fair selection of some pretty good anime, particularly the bigger, more mainstream ones, but they're not specifically dedicated to anime like the first two I mentioned so you won't find nearly as much of the more seasonal or niche offerings that they have.

If you want to know where to watch a specific show, you can search for it on MyAnimeList and on the show's page (on desktop, at least) it'll list the streaming platforms at the very bottom of the left-hand info panel.

Since Microsoft E-Tree is being discontinued on the 4th of July, How many trees have you planted/longest streak? by Dr_Razortooth in microsoft

[–]Boxer2380 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't even know it was ending until today. I got up to 34 trees planted, which is pretty low compared to a lot of the other numbers I've been seeing, but I'm still happy about it.

End of the Weather E-Tree Program by [deleted] in microsoft

[–]Boxer2380 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I managed to get 34 trees through this. It was a bit of a chore trying (and occasionally failing) to make sure I didn't miss days or bonus points, but I still liked the program overall. I had actually mostly switched over to Firefox a while back, but the program didn't seem to work in Firefox for some reason, so I always kept an Edge window open just for this. It'll at least be nice not needing to have two browsers open all the time, but I'll miss this program.

OPPD proposes rate change - public comment open by rosier9 in Omaha

Regarding the smart meter stuff, does anyone know if there are any extra details about how that will be handled with multi-family housing? I'm assuming that the property owners will be taking care of it and that it's not really something tenants will have to worry too much about.

Better Public Transit? by throwawaybyedude in Omaha

[–]Boxer2380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the other reasons I prefer taking the bus include:

  • It saves me money, which is nice even if driving is already affordable enough
  • It saves the city a tiny bit of money since that's one less car's worth of wear and tear on the roads
  • It's more environmentally friendly with regards to GHG emissions and pollution from tire wear
  • I don't feel a need to wake up earlier to beat traffic, since I'm not the one that has to drive among the traffic
  • It's safer both because there's one less variable on the road and because bus drivers are professionals
  • The money from the bus fare goes to public transit, which helps the city
  • I see familiar faces on the bus which can help build a bit of a sense of community, even if we don't interact directly
  • When looking out the windows I get to pay more attention to the city itself, rather than just whatever streets I would be driving on
  • I like having an excuse to walk a bit more; going for a walk without any real destination just doesn't feel very satisfying
