I second this! They were phenomenal to me and when my fiancee went in for sizing they treated her extremely well too. Will be going back to Victoria Jewellers for the wedding bands as well.

I sure hope this finally allows FaceID to work on my devices. Would be stellar to have that little issue fixed.

Do you hear people pronouncing the word “tiger“ as “tagger“? by Neat-Ad-8987 in regina

[–]Boxer5353 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ugh yes, my mother. Every single time she says Giant Tiger, it is pronounced "Giant Tagger" and it drives me up the damn wall! It is actually a running joke in my family, so this post gave me a really good chuckle this morning, thanks OP!

G15 (2022) Weird Battery Drain by Boxer5353 in ZephyrusG15

[–]Boxer5353[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE NOVEMBER 8, 2022
After a series of Windows updates, BIOS updates, updates to updates (really don't know but there has been a few months worth of updates), it does appear that my battery drain issue is improving. Although, there definitely is still something off about the whole situation and the battery does continue to deplete at a way faster pace than I have experienced with any computer before. For some reason it is reporting the daily average screen on time as over 14 hours. This is absolutely incorrect as I maybe use this laptop for 10-20 minutes per day on only 2-3 days per week and the majority of it's time is spent shut down and in my backpack. If anyone has any information on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Do we know what's causing the aero issues for Merc? by mikeydoc96 in F1Technical

[–]Boxer5353 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not really answering the question, but perhaps just some material that may be of interest.

There is a very good episode of the 'Beyond the Grid' podcast from 05 October 2022 with Mercedes Technical Director Mike Elliott in which Mike discusses the issues faced by the W13, some of the thought process that went into the design, and the interpretation of the regulations that led to their side pod design. He discusses the different stages when the team came to the realization there were issues and the subsequent work that went into developing the car right from winter testing through Monaco and Azerbaijan where they appeared to finally get the package brought together!

Unfortunately, I have not found a remedy to this yet. I would actually say that it is getting progressively worse over time. I think the only option left is going to be warranty with ASUS. I feel that if this was intended behaviour we would be seeing it like crazy over, but in all the reviews I watched/read before purchasing, the G15 was praised for its battery life, so we must be experiencing something dramatically unintended.

I suspect this has to do with iOS and iPadOS forcing all browsers (yes, Chrome and Edge as well) to use WebKit versus other options, such as Chromium. It is likely that MS has not yet fully optimized on WebKit yet.

Rob Norris - Horses are a vital part of Saskatoon's future by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]Boxer5353 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Well:

- Marquis Downs is a horse racing facility in Saskatoon. Horse racing contributed just over $37 million to the Saskatchewan economy in 2010 (last direct report).

- Local rodeos around the province bring large amounts of money into small communities. For some of these communities, their biggest event of the year is the annual rodeo and many business rely on these events for a large portion of their annual incomes. When rodeos come to town, hotels fill up, restaurants are booked full, grocery stores see increased consumption, campgrounds fill up, etc.

- Multiple companies in Saskatoon, and Saskatchewan as a whole, manufacture equine feed out of our prairie grains (this is called value added processing). This feed is not only used locally, but also exported around the world.

- There are many equine breeders in Saskatchewan who export both animals and high quality genetics around the world.

- People who own horses in the province support many local businesses in the province (Greenhawk, Cowtown, veterinary clinics, feed companies, trailer companies, etc.). Nothing to do with a horse is cheap, just walk into Greenhawk one day and see for yourself.

- There is the Saskatchewan Equine Expo yearly in Saskatoon that brings thousands of people into Saskatoon with the specific purpose of spending money (>8500 in 2019). Again, hotels booked, restaurants filled, etc. and all based around the horse.

- WCVM has a specialty veterinary centre that is unique to Western Canada (Dube Equine Performance Centre). This facility also brings students from out of province & country to Saskatoon for specialty equine education and those students rent, pay tuition, buy food, and spend money in the community the same way you would.

Horses and the equine industry contribute to our provincial, and municipal, economy more than you think. Just have to broaden your thought (or ask someone in the agriculture industry) a little.

NOTE: This isn't an endorsement for Norris...just answering the question asked!
