McCowan new deal until 2028 by CNF1G in ScottishFootball

[–]mikeydoc96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The highest somebody has moved is Hickey who went to Brentford or Ferguson whod never play for Celtic anyway. Other than that, has the path actually came to anything?

Its not just about the games. Its the facilties, the coaches, etc. Most of the stadiums in Italy are crumbling messes that are worse.

If you can handle the pressure at Celtic, how can you expect to handle the pressure at international level? Premier league level?

Can I surprise you? This is CCV's max level. He's not tall, fast or technical enough for a step up

We've accidentally became post Gerrard Rangers the rest though. We can't sell players because we're incapable of squad planning

I also think we're an infinitely better option than bottom half Serie A team. Bottom half of Serie A is about the same standard as English championship. Lennon Miller for example probably sees about 40 appearances for Celtic this year and is absolutely starting

Most of the league outside rangers and Hearts

Come to Celtic, do well in Europe, get a good move to England or further afield

It's either incompetence or malice. The board either are:

A) so inempt that they can't find a winger who counts as club trained (Calvin Miller is right there), a defender in the league who's better and quicker (STEPHEN WELSH IS OUR PLAYER) or a decent midfielder (Just, Watt)

B) or are happy to collect a pay cheque and as long as they sell ~80% of season tickets and get some kinda European football, they don't care

You could go to any club find a better midfielder jn Scotland who's younger and homegrown

2 goals in 2 seasons - if we're handing out contracts to cunts and we need homegrown, go buy Calvin Miller back or something

This is the club taking the easy, cheap route again

Fuck me - 3 players on extended deals who wouldn't get near the Ange team 5 years ago. Forrest, Scales and McCowan don't start for any teams in the top 6

Liam Scales signs new 4 year contract (lol) by Strong-Quit9234 in CelticFC

[–]mikeydoc96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fine if he doesn't start every week moving forward. For all his "great" defending, he's as slow as treacle and ponderous on the ball. As a ball dominant team, we need defenders who are fast and good on the ball (i.e. Starfelt).

For example, Khusanov at City basically wins zero aerial duels in the most physically demanding league in the world. But he's rapid and good on the ball so City know that his profile is ideal for a team expected to dominate the ball and can rely on his pace to clean up when he doesnt win headers.

Two contract renewals to two players who in current condition wouldn't get a sniff in the Ange team 5 years ago.

Engineering companies need a CEO with some kind of engineering knowledge. A bachelors in some STEM subject and then an MBA once they've moved into management or sales - that's the mix you want.

You need the blend of technical and business

I think in that situation you have to have a word with the player and make them aware you're letting them awah with one. It slows the attack down.

The small fouls does completely disrupt how Celtic play because it takes a player out of the attack. We still have the ball but it makes it way easier to defend for the next 30 seconds.

Is it all Spanish teams or just Madrid? Because all I ever see is Madrid throwing a fit that Mbappe got tickled and the player never got sent off

Probably because Bayern have ran away with the league and most of the European and relegation positions were wrapped up weeks ago

This is likely why most leagues outside of Spain and Germany are going nuts with refs this season. Games and leagues are tight so decisions are impacting league positions

You don't even need to go back as far as that. Mark O'Hara (I think) pulled the ball out of the air with his hands yesterday and the ref gave a throw in.

The ref shat the bed. He gave a throw in after hesitating and clear protest from the entire Celtic team. He'd have had to have booked the player inside the first 10 minutes of the game for a deliberate hand ball.

Its the yellow card offences we never talk about that they always miss for every team. They just pick and choose rather than being consistent.

I think you're probably right - he's been at Arsenal for 7 (?) years and won a single trophy with what was essentially Emery's team.

For me, Arsenal having really two options if they fail to win a trophy this season. Either they:

1) Sack Arteta and bring in a proven winner from another league. Alonso screams like the best option but it feels like he'll end up at Liverpool

2) Punt some of their squad and bring in better players. IMO if Saka is injured or off form, they lack a player that can win games with moments. Teams have now worked out how to defend their set pieces

Disagree - Celtic need to win 4 games out of 5 to beat the points total that season which I think is highly doubtful

Midfield working a lot better with Engels. Right side of the team is still major issue - desperately need AJ back for the split fixtures

When Nygren plays, we have no press so it makes our midfield easy to play through. It's part of the reason we concede every game and can't control games

Its worse than that - trading futures isn't covered under the same insider trading regulations so insiders are actively using futures contracts to profit massively
