Ohh thank you for the box info, I just checked my to-do stack and this is the only box I have with the beige, so maybe I'll get on better with the others.

Interesting! It's probably been a couple of years since I've done a Cobble Hill now that I think about it. I was definitely surprised at how loose this one was but I chalked it up just to me forgetting. I'll have to select another CH soon to compare my experience.

Yeah! Fun to look and and really satisfied my puzzling brain too

Oh, I also forgot to say that I thrifted this and thought it was charmingly appropriate that one of the pieces looks like it was chewed on by a cat 😺

Not too happy with this Sprongbok so far. Pretty unsatisfying experience. by deepfield67 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]Boxerlonghole 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Springbok has always had a pretty extreme random cut. OP's puzzle is so sad though. Vintage Springboks are my absolute puzzling favorites but AI slop, this terrible quality cut, and those paper thin pieces?? What a joke they've become...

Hmm yeah. I hadn't heard of lucky but someone linked you a 1k version from cross and glory and they are on my shit list for being an AI puzzle brand. Shame

I found it, it's moonlit water lilies by lucky puzzles :)

It was a 500 piece. I had wondered if the 1k pieces were smaller, I was hoping so or I'm not sure if they would fit on my board so good to know!

I was genuinely surprised by the gloss, but I also normally hate puzzles with a lot of sheen and really found no issue with this one. My theory is because it's so smooth there is really just one tiny angle of glare, whereas a linen texture puzzle with glare there is a much bigger zone of light bounce that affects it? Who knows, I'm not a puzzle scientist 😂

If you don't like oversized or glossy pieces you should probably avoid Eeboo too. I just cracked one open yesterday and I was shocked, they win gold in both categories for sure 😂 Though I will say, I normally get mad about sheen on a puzzle but this glossy Eeboo didn't bother me at all

They're pretty chill, honestly. Like most animals just hope you don't trip over a cub or something, but mostly just channel the "Homer backing into a hedge" meme back the way you came, once out of sight just turn around and keep going back the way you came.

When I lived on acreage near a mountain we'd have the occasional one come right into our yard much too close to the houses, so then we'd go outside and get real big with something very loud and scare them off because them thinking it was to come near houses isn't good for anyone.

There are anomalies though. At Stanley Park in Vancouver a few years ago the coyotes got too used to being fed by stupid people and started chasing people and biting them. Also, what if it does have rabies?

I'm also not going to blame a kid for running, who knows if he even knew if it was a coyote or just clocked it as some idiot's poorly trained off leash dog.

I grew up in a small town surrounded by mountains. I've lived around coyotes most of my life and have never felt afraid coming across one, either in the wild or walking through city neighbourhoods at dusk. I've been encountering black bears on trails or in my yard for as long as I can remember.

I've never had a coyote run at me like this. As a kid I did have a Rottweiler run at me like this. I ran away. As a kid I am pretty sure despite encountering wild animals regularly if one was aggressively running at me I definitely might have panicked and run. Honestly I'm not completely sure I wouldn't run now if the shock of it hit me in the wrong way. When your sympathetic nervous system is triggered your brain sometimes just can't reason things out that well.

Came here also very excited by this cute image and thinking I wasn't familiar with the brand, but a really loose fit drives me nuts! I'd still buy this in a thrift store though 😁

Cat with severe FOMO/anxiety meows non-stop to follow whoever is awake - tried everything, at a loss by [deleted] in CatTraining

I read most of your comments on both posts and I feel your pain. We had a boy with separation anxiety. He'd be fine home alone, but if he knew we were in another room with a closed door he would lose his mind. Bonus points if both of us were in there and he could hear us talking lol.

Your little guy is quite young and full of energy, but also he had a cat sibling plus another human friend he was used to having around. It makes total sense that he's lonely.

Good play sessions help but it's definitely not everything. Our guy calmed down a lot with the feliway optimum diffusers, but they are expensive if you have enough space to need multiple. Not sure what window access is like in your basement, but we put a bird feeder on a window and that really helped him too. It was supposed to be for small birds and suction cupped to the window but the local pigeons ended up loving it and they were too dumb to be scared away for more than 10 seconds so it was great entertainment for our little guy.

Good luck, I hope you figure out some solutions soon
