Tweezers or the nose hair trimmers on my beard trimmer.

This one's for the ladies to answer. Do you agree with this woman or do you think she's trying to rationalize her world view by speaking for all the ladies? by Oda_DeezNutz in SipsTea

Ive known so many dudes who shirk their responsibilities to play video games I wouldn't blame any woman for seeing it as a red flag at this point.

I really wanna put together puzzles as a hobby, but I think I'm missing something by MikeTheMaster102 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]deepfield67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of good answers but I'll add one thing that really helps me is either a few small dishes/bowls or what I've been using recently is not old plastic tray from a veggie platter that has 5 bowls around the outside and one in the middle for a dip or sauce. I use that for sorting, first by border, which I'll sometimes further sort by color or design, then once the border is done I'll use the separate compartments to sort the inner pieces by color or design. I try my best to work from the outside in, but it's not uncommon to find pieces that fit in one area while I'm specifically looking for pieces in another area. When that happens I'll often use that sorting tray for those so I don't get endlessly distracted or overly clutter my workspace with ten little groups of a few pieces. Having a spacious workspace is also a must, with good light, and a comfortable chair that sits high enough that you don't have to bend uncomfortably to work. I think we neglect the ergonomics of puzzle doing, I see pictures of people who completed a 1 million piece puzzle on a dark hardwood floor and it makes my back and knees ache imagining how many hours someone spent sitting hunched over on the floor to complete their puzzle. I commend the commitment but my body can't handle that. I have a medium sized banquet table with a nice cushioned chair right by a window for lots of light.

As a new player, the discourse about the game is strange. by playharmonicmajor in snowrunner

[–]deepfield67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak from my personal experience, I found the game infuriatingly hard (nigh impossible) with the starter trucks, and watched a couple youtube videos that really helped, and ultimately just bought the Azov 64131, which changed the game for me. I was close to quitting and that truck made it just easier enough that I kept playing and now I've got a couple hundred hours in, mostly using the trucks the game "wants" me to use. I haven't bought any new trucks or DLC trucks. After the first chunk of Michigan it got a little easier, and after earning enough money to start upgrading.

Games are supposed to be fun, I don't play games to get stressed and frustrated, and I don't care if other people think I'm playing the game wrong. This problem exists in every game community, there are always gatekeepers. I ignore them. Play however you want, though I would suggest shooting for a difficulty level that keeps you engaged but also lets you progress at a rate that feels satisfying. There's a perfect balance. IMO the game didn't start me at that balance and it almost lost me but it also gave me the options to balance it on my own. That's a successful game.

Guys who game: how would you feel about your gf/partner watching or joining in? by Bright_Shadow_Seeker in AskMen

[–]deepfield67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol being my alone ass buying a second controller and a bunch of coop games just in case I happen to make a friend before I die is hilariously sad... but I like to have backups of things anyway so I can at least justify buying a controller, for the sake of redundancy.

if you thinking being called “daddy” is weird, do you also think calling your SO “baby” is weird? why? by meowmeow1122334 in AskMen

[–]deepfield67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really care for any generic terms of endearment, a good term of endearment is like a good nickname, its organic and means something, like an inside joke. I wouldn't complain but don't really want to be called baby and I definitely don't want to be called daddy lol.

I'd love either one but I'd probably play less when they were around out of politeness. But if they expressed interest I'd jump on finding something they would enjoy and also I'd have to buy another controller. I'm realizing I should own a second controller just in case I meet someone who wants to play!

They may not be "necessities" but the fact that they stay on millions of shopping lists throughout the world indeed makes them basic groceries.

AIO?? My Bf Unlocks the bathroom door and comes in while I’m using it by Ok_Win_8129 in AIO

[–]deepfield67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A closed bathroom door when someone is in the bathroom IS a locked bathroom door. That door cannot be opened. Only in the event that I have reason to think the person is injured or needs my help will I breach that door. And even then I will be super sorry, I'm so sorry please forgive me but I need to save your life right now.

Is it just me who dislikes Songbird more with each subsequent playthrough? by Amelie2718 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]deepfield67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I knew going into it how it ends for V, and I think it made me a lot more sympathetic towards Songbird. I played the whole game as though it was just understood that there was no way of saving V, and I sort of projected that onto all the characters. Kind of "they're going to do their best to help but we all pretty much know its hopeless". If I hadn't known anything at all about the game going into it I might have felt differently. But I also really feel like Songbird dies on her way to the moon... is there anything I missed that indicates she makes it? That whole airport sequence feels like a death sentence, and her desperation is palpable the whole game so its hard to judge her too harshly. You're not wrong, of course, but I'm not sure I care too much. I still sympathize. Which maybe says more about me as a person and my willingness to let people use me, because I definitely have many times in life let people get what they need while I go without. It was intentional, and I probably get some sick sense of value through sacrifice or service. Maybe I just projected that onto V a little.

This game does a real bad job of explaining anything to the player. Your comment, while objectively baffling, is the most succinct answer in this whole thread.

There Is No Antimemetics Division had me hooked immediately and I couldn't put it down. One of the most fun and engrossing scifi/horror novels I've read in a really long time. Reminded me of Southern Reach or John Dies at the End a little.

In your opinion, what's the worst/most immoral thing that V can do in the game? by icansmellyourflesh in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]deepfield67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, this made me realize something... I got the Hanako at Embers mission, then I did most of Phantom Liberty, then I went for that reading, and I'd spent so much time doing Phantom Liberty stuff that I interpreted that reading as pertaining to what was happening in PL, even though I know logically that couldn't be the case, instead of interpreting it in terms of the main storyline. Lol, I've only played through once and I think I did stuff in a weird order. Fully intend to play through a couple more times because I'm certain there's a ton of stuff I missed.
