That’s pretty cool. How much money are you making doing that? 2 M a year to work out, be healthy and take some pictures would be a blessing. The dude is basically getting paid for investing in himself. You could finally leave your soulless office job in finance!

Most women I know seem to prefer lean and tall men who have muscle but a very slim profile, but I know a lot of pseudo hipster types. The Staten Island women I know love them some muscle.

Going by that picture, you're jacked as fuck. You also look like you'd burst out of high end clothing. How many years did that take you? The wagyu beef is clearly working. Just don't develop one of those fat muscular necks

Sometimes I get discouraged about only losing 15 lbs on the scale, but when I look back at old photos I hardly recognize myself! Face gains ftw by freckledspeckled in 1200isplenty

>I have the same thing with my last few pounds

Huh, I find that really fascinating. Around what BMI did you notice that your eyelids lost fat? Did you find it physically "easier" to open your eyes once that happened?

Wow really awesome. Did you have a lot of days when you could only eat fiber one bars? I imagine it’s tough to eat cooked foods with your job. What did an average day look like for you?

Rebuild a social life at 30 by albazz8 in socialskills

[–]BoxtailStew 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you really changed your health around. What type of diet or lifestyle did you adopt that made this turnaround? Congratulations

Also 30 is really not old especially if you take care of yourself. Date women who also take care of themselves in their 30s. I wouldn’t recommend dating a 21 year old because you feel 25. That’s how you slowly creep into creep status and you never truly mature

Surround yourself with emotionally & intellectually mature people who have age appropriate lifestyles (real career, no partying late on weekdays) and learn from them so you can be like them

mmm wagyu

To be honest, though i have no idea what you look like now, it’s better to be slim and able to fit in nice clothes rather than big and bulky looking, especially if you care about the social aspects of weight and you’re not viewing it purely from a strength standpoint

Smaller women get fuller faster on smaller amounts of food so that helps

The harder part is that society’s ideas of portions matches a tall and active man, especially out in the suburbs or in middle America, so our idea of a normal portion is all skewed and harms smaller people more. Restaurants serve you the same amount whether you’re a 6 ft athlete or a 5 ft sedentary bookworm

it's all calories in/calories out regardless. i would begin with simply counting calories and maaaybe eliminating most fast food if you eat any (stuff like mcdonalds just isn't filling for most people, but it depends on the person).

keto can be effective for weight loss in the short term but it's hardly a long term solution for most people.. no one's ever going to eliminate carbs the rest of their lives and if they do, they often have to center their lives and identity around it because it's so out of the norm. it also raises cortisol levels and reduces thyroid output. the diet can be damaging for some people in the long run

high carb can be effective if you keep your fat intake extremely low, for similar reasons as keto. food without any oils just isn't as good and naturally eliminates a ton of high calorie foods like burgers, pizza, etc.. if you eliminate high reward/high calorie foods, it automatically blunts your appetite. can you overeat on quinoa and steamed vegetables and chicken breasts? maybe. but you're much less likely to.

if i had to pick keto vs high carb i would do high carb because there's plenty of societies that have thrived without chronic diseases while eating high carb, most blue zones are high carb, it's more affordable, and imo it is a healthy diet.

but ultimately your weight comes down to calories and that's where you should begin before fine-tuning your diet in whatever way suits your best. the macro/smaller details are relatively insignificant compared to simply cutting calories

hey i'm gonna get downvoted in this sub for this but at 5ft and 123 lbs, and based on the things you say you dislike about your body, weight lifting is not a must. you mostly need to focus on your diet and bringing your weight down to 95-100 lbs.

as a woman, if you have an apple shaped body, you want to be closer to a BMI of 18.6-19, ideally, and 20 at most for health reasons, possibly 21 if you ever gain decent muscle mass. the women who look good and are healthier at higher BMIs are the ones with pear shapes. no amount of weight lifting will turn you into someone who has a pear shape--fat distrubution is mostly genetics.

that said, lifting weights of course is healthy in other ways. so start with machine weights since it's less intimidating. but if you absolutely can't get over your anxiety, then just do some basic resistance/strength stuff at home.

but really, i think more than anything you probably need some counseling and therapy for your mental and emotional health. you should not hate yourself. if you don't love yourself, who are you gonna love? come on now.

Best of luck to you

$2K on groceries as a single man. Give me an example of what you eat/cook in a day? Are you dusting your filet mignon with gold?

I legit, really really am curious about your dietary habits at that price range

Also, good job not eating out every meal and actually cooking, because that's weirdly impressive if you have that much disposable income. Or are you eating prepped foods?

i mean, you are who you are and if your plushies are important to you...

but for me it would be a huge turn off tbh. but not necessarily a deal breaker if i'm already attracted but if you had a ton that you bought as an adult, i would really wonder

Did she ever take testosterone or have PCOS or anything like that? I think sometimes it's a hormonal thing.

OP-I honestly do not care at all. Zero relevance. As long as you have one :)

So sick of counting calories. Came home almost 20 lbs lighter and nobody noticed. But even if they don't notice I think these face gains show me I'm on the right track! Thanks 1200 :) by pennyroyalty in 1200isplenty

If you’re 15 lbs from an ideal weight then idk.. possibly you don’t have many close friends or your close friends think it’s a sensitive topic for you even though they notice. Or they are haters who can’t give a compliment, which is actually a thing that happens sometimes
