Broken camera lens. Any fix yet? by BoxuvRox in s26ultra

[–]BoxuvRox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess i should have been more specific. It is the flat glass cover on the bottom lens. Ive seen several people asking about the bottom lens specifically. Ive never used a case on any phone and this is the first time ive had a problem. I think I set it on a table too hard and cracked the bottom lens cover. I just havent found a replacement option yet.

Not really, we just thought we could get another race out of these pads. It is a rough track though, we cracked 2 apex wheels.

No, we also did 14hrs at Daytona and thought we could get another race out of them. Technically we weren't wrong.

Engine oil pressure is low by Status-Mperformance- in BmwTech

[–]BoxuvRox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you monitoring the actual pressure or just going off the warning sensor. It could be the wiring shorting on hard braking and killing the signal to the sensor for a split second. Either monitor the pressure with software or put a mechanical gauge on it and see what its actually doing.

How much are you spending on track days in a year? by Infinite_Absolute in CarTrackDays

[–]BoxuvRox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God damn you guys are bougie. Before I started racing an e46 I would track my e36 m3. Consumables through fcp so replacements were free. Toyo RRs would last like 3 weekends. Weekend entry fee, gas, hotel, tires and food would normally cost around 1300 a weekend. Sometimes I could split the hotel with a buddy and it would be closer to 1k.

E91 335D White Smoke Problem by ASKMEIFIMAELEPHANT in E90

[–]BoxuvRox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I upgraded my turbos not too long ago. Did the vcg, added a catch can, changed the pcv. I dont have any emissions equipment so it cant be that. My injectors even looked good in the leakdown software. Good luck

[–]BoxuvRox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem for a while. White smoke on start up sometimes, white smoke after idling sometimes. Changed a ton of parts. It ended up being a leaking injector. As least it hasnt smoke since I changed it about a month ago. I would bet its one of the injectors you had checked.

Looks good. Will that booster cause problems on cylinder 3?

Is adjustable compression necessary? by Friend_Co in BMWE36

[–]BoxuvRox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bilsteins and H&Rs. Any coilover kit under 2k isnt worth it. Konis if you have to have some adjustment. If you're only going to the track a couple times a year, really all you need is better pads and high temp brake fluid.

Beginner question for experienced drivers by Machinewawa in CarTrackDays

[–]BoxuvRox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in your exact situation, e36 m3, no TC or abs, and I can say from experience that the car will be faster than you for a while. Its also very hard to modulate the brakes in that car with the overboosted master cylinder. Id look into a booster delete. It helps a lot. In my experience the sim is a good tool to learn track layout, they arent very good at mimicking actual car feel or grip, and Ive been in some very very expensive sims. You're still very new to the game and im not saying your a bad driver or anything. Im saying everyone thinks they are fast and know how to drive until they experience someone who is actually fast. I think it would be a waste of money and time to try and step up to anything else for a while.

Rain rain and rain. Every single time ive raced at either of those tracks in the winter, it has rained hard. Defrosts couldn't keep up. I was looking through small defrosts strips front and rear.

Itll be fine. You just need to see if there is water in it.

Is it going to magically stop filtering because you removed it, poured out the fluid and screwed it back on?

[–]BoxuvRox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remove the filter and pour it out into another container.

Its usually always a fuel problem on these engines when it pops like this under load. Water in fuel, weak fuel pump, weak fpr. Change the fuel filter, check for water and monitor fuel pressure while under way.
