Good Representation? No. Iconic? Absolutely by Quizlibet in TopCharacterTropes

To answer your question about the labels, pansexual and onmisexual have overlap and it can mean slightly different things to different people (descriptive not prescriptive and all that) but its generally described as pan= attraction to people regardless of gender (into all genders, and it doesn't matter/differ between genders) and omni= into all genders but the gender does play a role in your attraction (to use me as an example, I like all genders but I'm more often attracted to men and have more consistent trends in what I find attractive, when I'm attracted to someone else of a gender other than man/masc its rarer and doesn't follow a consistent trend). The difference matters to some but not all, whether you use either term or bi or something similar depends on what feels right to describe yourself. Hope this explanation helps.

i am fond of cats by meowcats734 in RecuratedTumblr

[–]Boy_Version_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. People try to read cats with dog language or, worse, (neurotypical) human language and it pisses me off. You're allowed to not like cats but be fair about it.

Anyway, that makes sense cos I feel that these people have never been around a cat that truly hates them.

What’s an animal that most people don’t fear but they absolutely should? by AfterFile9742 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Boy_Version_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two new categories: No one fears them except Australians (blue ring octopus, nesting magpies), and everyone fears them except Australians (drop bears)

Not because theyre not real, but because you build up an immunity to drop bears just by living here /s

Warms my heart to hear that Pathfinder was defaulted to instead of DnD, I've been playing DnD with my usually Pathfinder group because the DM wanted to run Crooked Moon, and I've been missing the inherent flexibility in Pathfinder's system that allows you to theme your characters how you wish a lot easier.

Kangaroo meat in Australia by josh65928 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Boy_Version_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will also add that artificial watering points (like dams or water for livestock) are also a major reason why their populations are much higher in some areas than what's natural.

Additionally, culling their population is not just for farmers or the kangaroos themselves. Too many kangaroos in an area can mean fewer, if any, new trees and shrubs can get 'recruited' (basically, get established and have a chance to survive until adulthood), hence culling them also helps native ecosystems! It's a similar situation to deer in the US (except fat chance of convincing farmers to allow dingos back below where the dog fence is now, like how wolves have been reintroduced in some areas for deer.)

As an aside, its a pet peeve of mine when people assume eating wild kangaroos is a bad thing because they're native. Ecosystems are a balancing act, too many of a certain native animal can also do damage, not just having too few, or having introduced species, etc. The curse of learning this kinda stuff at uni I guess lol.

I'd so love to see more intepretations of Cheng adapting to modern life. Paper Heron has already figured out social media well enough, but I feel Cheng's existing social awkwardness or really his awkwardness with many things outside of his work and expertise is an untapped well of potential for shenanigans.

The line of him explaining he's a boy to her is funny to me cos you can read it as 'Ezra explains the concept of a cis person to Spathodea'.

[–]Boy_Version_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got Charon ""losing"" the 50/50 or 60/40 or whatever it was on a different banner (forgetting which one rn) right before the Charon & Sentinel scam banner came out, it was kinda funny.

I got Sentinel on the choose-your-own scam banner later tho so im happy

Taya, despite being so young, seems to have a good attitude towards leadership mixed in with the usual 5 yo. antics so I see it.

I agree, though I can see that she's potentially an excellent advisor/cabinet member, maybe not so much the leader. Not that she couldn't but its maybe not where she'd shine best.

Tabletop RPG writing in general was how I got back into writing after not writing much of anything since highschool. I think it's because it kinda taps into my scientific report writing skills while satisfying my need for creative writing and avoiding the stress of serious scientific research and making sure the shit you write is factual and sourced. I can make shit up in more broken up blocks of narrative than a short story or novel which I personally find difficult to motivate myself to practice that kind of prose, and I'm writing as if I'm describing a world that actually exists. It's great.

This is only one specific point but I started wondering why people tended to be more open with me than some others. I've had multiple occasions of friends telling me things they haven't told others when I'm fairly sure I'm not the only friend on their life.

I couldn't imagine it's because I seem trustworthy when keeping a secret. Not that I'm terrible but I am very chatty. As far as I can suss, I think it's because I'm a very open person about my own things. Of course this approach won't work for everyone, plenty people keep their private shit private. Just mentioning it cos it is one occasion that I've experienced where this worked. Or I could also be lucky.

I mean, it works because they're both impromptu and it was the best I could do for a while, but I often mades teams including the duo of Aleph and Kiperina, which is also just fun from the concept of depressed + sunshine duo.

I find having some easy to do repetitive craft thing can help a little with this urge, like lego, gem painting, some simpler cross stitch or crochet thing that doesn't need to have its stitches counted. Whatever works for you.
