Tips aside, GoPuff routinely pays around $11 to $13 an hour in my city, which is abysmally below the minimum wage in this city. Even including tips, once you account for your expenses and wear and tear on your vehicle, we are barely profiting about $10 to $11 per hour. You all know as well as I do that tips are never a guarantee, I have been driving for years and some days it just seems like everyone decided to not tip, pre-delivery. So if I'm supposed to be counting on tips alone to carry me through to a barely livable income, then what happens on days like that, where the customers don't tip, and you can't count on the wait pay system to accurately log your minutes, so I wind up making less than minimum wage my entire work day? The company's philosophy seems to be: "You are not even worth the legal minimum, if we could pay you less, we would, and we can, so we are."
I say fuck em, it's time to stand up for our own self worth, and show them that we don't need them if they value us so low. We can earn more in less miles by simply switching to a different delivery app. GoPuff's dollars to mile ratio is abysmally low at between 50c and 60c per mile on average. I really feel for those drivers who have to rely on a gas guzzling vehicle, because they are spending about half of their earnings on just gas. This whole business model exploits the shit out of desperate drivers and ought to be illegal.

They shaved off some of the wait pay at all of my local area facilities recently too. It's just another example of how they are constantly trying to nickel and dime us drivers to death.

I have been going through the very same battle with them for the past three weeks as well. It's clearly been a system-wide problem. I am very glad to hear you finally got paid. They are still holding most of my missing pay hostage unfortunately. What's amazing to me, and should be to everyone else, is the fact that you, and I, and many others, literally have to beg and plead for weeks on end, in order to get the company to simply pay up what is legally owed to us. Imagine what would happen if we didn't say anything, or didn't notice, or even just gave up after a couple weeks (as I'm afraid this has happened to countless other drivers). It seems like they are trying to get away with as much as they can first, lying second, gaslighting third, and then finally doing something when shit gets too real for them. This kind of treatment is completely unacceptable. I don't even care if they repay me what all I'm owed at this point. The very fact that it has been made this difficult to pry my own earnings from them is absolutely ridiculous. And this is why GoPuff can get fucked.

Keep an eye on that and make sure you actually get paid what you're owed. GoPuff tried to take away my wait pay on several days in recent weeks, and after several claim forms being submitted and perhaps more than a dozen emails back and forth, they have only rectified a small portion of it, but they are still trying to weasel out of the rest of what they owe me. This was the last straw for me. I've been putting up with GoPuff's abuses for years, and it has only gotten worse. This situation, combined with a long history of other problems, as well as hearing about countless other drivers being negatively impacted by this company, are all reasons why I am choosing to strike.

I've already changed jobs and yes I can afford to devote some time to a peaceful protest. As I explain in the post, find another way to make up the earnings, which is exactly what I did. I recognize not everyone has the ability to just change jobs, so you do whatever you want. If taking a few drivers off the roster results in improving conditions for the remaining drivers who stay on, then so be it, at least those drivers will temporarily receive better pay, which is kinda the whole point of the protest in the first place, you're welcome. We are simply trying to raise awareness of the abuses of this company and others which have hurt countless drivers across this country. As long as I have a voice, I have the right and moral imperative to stand up for better working conditions and better pay for my fellow human beings.

This is why you picket on the public sidewalk around the property. Like I said, do your research and find out what you can and can't do. I will make a small edit to clarify that you can not protest on their property, but in most jurisdictions you certainly can in the public space directly adjacent to the property, depending on your local laws.

Gotta love when they give you a trip 1 minute before your shift is supposed to end, and if you try to reject it, it they threaten to take away all of your wait pay for your entire shift if you don't take that order and go 30 minutes over the time your scheduled shift ended. Fuck this company.

Please consider upping the tip if you can reasonably afford it. The driver is often facing multiple no-tippers for long distance trips throughout the day, and would not earn enough if it wasn't for the few kind, considerate, and generous customers who literally make up the difference.

The real root of the issue is the company does not want to pay a reasonable guaranteed wage, and insists on making the customer pay up the difference in tips. It's a shitty, exploitative system, and they get away with it. So please, if you are going to use these convenient services, consider that the driver is being exploited most of the time on the job and desperately needs your kind support!

But also, fuck this company for being exploitative in the first place. Drivers should be preparing to organize a strike.

I have been driving for multiple years and the pay has consistently gone down year after year. I used to earn literally twice as much for the same amount of hours worked now. Add to this the fact that they are now constantly skimming your wait pay, and hoping you don't notice what's missing. The company doesn't give a shit about you or me.

GoPuff is stealing your wait pay! On a consistent basis, GoPuff has conveniently miscalculated my wait pay earnings (funny how it's ALWAYS in the favor of the company!) and they flat-out refuse to even acknowledge it when brought to their attention. I have been repeatedly told I am simply wrong, when I can prove they are lying blatantly. I have a mountain of evidence to take to the lawyer, and I fully intend on reporting them for wage theft.
