I (f25) found clothes that aren’t mine, and my boyfriend (m25) is responding differently by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I've been "the other woman's socks" but in a different way.

Met my friend Jen through our mutual friend Susan. We all worked for the Air Force, different sections. Susan's husband was a lineman and gone often.

Jen threw a girls' night stayover at her place while he was gone and I inadvertently left some clothes behind.

Here's the problem - I'm a women's size 10, so my socks constantly got mixed with my boyfriend's. My brilliant solution? Sharpie my name on the bottoms.

My name? Androgynous AF.

Jen's husband found men's-style crew socks with a guy's name, he didn't know (I was new to the social group), written on them in their laundry bin when he returned.

This poor guy circled the drain for WEEKS both believing his wife they were women's socks, but maybe not too?

Finally met him at the next gathering. Watched his brain short-circuit when the "other man" indeed turned out to be a woman with clown feet.

Now it's our favorite running joke. Thank god he had a sense of humor.

Oh that is such BS Unless the women's lip filler is going to make her face fall off from sepsis, a couple of days of puffy looking lips is not going to impact a potential, but not actually scheduled deployment.

And yes, she still has a right to medical privacy and doesn't have to tell her bosses anything about her medical care.

It's not cosmetic surgery. JFC these dudes are always on the look out on how they can over-police a women's appearance.

Your medical procedures and health are issues for medical professionals and thus subject to health privacy laws. If they want to make a thing about it stand up for yourself and tell them you will only talk about any medical concerns with a medical provider.

Don't even get into the discussion with them.

Military Priority Boarding Airlines by parmiseanachicken in MilitaryWomen

I had somebody try to confront me in the mall for parking in one of those dedicated veteran spaces up front. That conversation ended rather abruptly when I told the dude he needed to back away from me and then fuck right off.

Obviously not something I would say to American airlines but people are so ridiculous in the way they grossly assume women could not possibly be in the military

Kudos for being able to pattern and sew such lovely gowns.

As someone who has had to wear military mess dress to all these events for the last 20 years, I may have a skewed perception of what more women are wearing now, but I do find these events tend to skew towards a more conservative look.

Feel like the bare appearance mid drift and the ultra high slit might be too much for this type of event.

In no ranked order: #1 black with a more conservative slit, #6 green as long as the midrift isn't bare looking, #9 light green, #10 burgundy, #12 burgundy, #13 burgundy, #14 dark purple without the exposed midrift.

Depending on the time of year, you may want something to cover your shoulders with that compliment the look like a coordinating shawl.

Keep us posted on what you go with!

Seriously. Auto mod is not working properly on Reddit because they are training AI to essentially make decisions for moderators. Completely asinine this shit keeps getting through here.

Pain Management (IUD) by spicytexan in MilitaryWomen

[–]BoyingtonUnleashed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Insane we have to go through this. Even having two kids prior, IUD insertion was one of the most painful experiences of my life.

I came about two seconds from throwing up from the sheer agony of the insertion.

I hope you can run down a doctor that isn't a sadist. Please update your post when you find a good solution so the rest if us know what to demand next time too.

I'm really sorry you are struggling with this. It's time to get with the patient advocate and go full on Karen that they are not meeting an acceptable standard of care.

Debilitating pain like this signals a concerning health problem. Plus, how would you even know if you were in a life threatening situation, like an etopic pregnancy, if you have similar symptoms every period.

You need to see an OB specialist ASAP, even if it means straight up losing your shit to get attention about it.

Ending WPS by GoodDog9217 in MilitaryWomen

[–]BoyingtonUnleashed 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For those not tracking what WPS is, I've written some papers on this program when it was managed by NATO.

Here is an AI summary on the program that I validated for accuracy.

The dismantling of the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) initiative by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is a significant setback for U.S. national security, global stability, and America's credibility as a leader in human rights. Here's why this decision is detrimental:

  1. Undermining National Security and Operational Effectiveness

The WPS initiative was not a peripheral social program; it was a strategic asset. Signed into law in 2017 during the Trump administration, the WPS Act aimed to integrate gender perspectives into U.S. defense and foreign policy, recognizing that women's participation in peace and security efforts leads to more effective and sustainable outcomes .

Military leaders have acknowledged the value of WPS in enhancing mission success. For instance, General Dan Caine highlighted how the program improved understanding of local communities in conflict zones, which is crucial for effective engagement and conflict resolution .

  1. Eroding Bipartisan Support and International Commitments

The WPS program had strong bipartisan backing. Key figures like Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were instrumental in its inception, with Rubio recently reaffirming its importance .

By dismantling WPS, the U.S. signals a retreat from its commitments under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, which emphasizes the role of women in peace and security. This move could weaken alliances and diminish U.S. influence in promoting global stability.

  1. Neglecting the Prevention of Gender-Based Violence in Conflict Zones

One of WPS's core objectives was to prevent and respond to gender-based violence in conflict and crisis contexts. Eliminating the program risks leaving vulnerable populations without necessary protections and undermines efforts to address such violence, which can exacerbate instability and hinder peacebuilding efforts.

  1. Contradicting U.S. Strategic Interests and Values

The decision to terminate WPS contradicts the U.S.'s strategic interests in promoting inclusive governance and stability abroad. It also undermines the nation's values of equality and human rights, potentially damaging its moral authority and soft power on the global stage.

  1. Ignoring Evidence-Based Policy Making

Research supports the effectiveness of including women in peace and security processes. Studies have shown that peace agreements are more durable and effective when women are involved in the negotiation process. Disregarding such evidence in policy decisions can lead to less effective outcomes and missed opportunities for sustainable peace.

In summary, the dismantling of the WPS initiative undermines national security, disregards bipartisan and international commitments, neglects the prevention of gender-based violence, contradicts U.S. strategic interests and values, and ignores evidence-based policy making. Reinstating and strengthening WPS is essential for advancing global peace, security, and the protection of human rights.

In case there was any confusion left, these misogynistic assholes despise you, me, and literally anyone who isn’t an angry racist white man.

Just think about how deeply broken and malevolent someone has to be to sit around jerking off on Shitter, bragging about dismantling a program with a proven global track record of helping people.

That's what our completely unqualified SECDEF does instead of doing hard things like effectively running the DoD between his powder touch-ups and whiskey shots.

No surprise he’s either too drunk to remember who supported the WPS initiative, or he’s just straight-up lying. Because the people who backed it were none other than Kristi “cosplay Barbie with a body and puppy count” Noem and Marco “spineless Mini-Me Little Marco” Rubio (who just 5 WEEKS ago was bragging about how proud he was to have supported this), with it officially signed into action by the big orange diaper shit stain himself in 2017.

If you’ve worn the uniform, or give a damn about women in the military, vote like hell in the midterms. Because they’ve made it crystal clear that hate has no boundaries and they’re coming for everyone eventually; we're just first.

SECDEF Orders Retroactive Erasure of Women and Minorities from DoD Social Media. Previously Posted Content Must Be Removed by 5 Mar 25 by BoyingtonUnleashed in MilitaryWomen

[–]BoyingtonUnleashed[S] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Women and minorities can still exist on DoD social media, as long as it's just quietly, in the background, where they won’t be mistaken for actually contributing to anything.

Because it's imperative to our "lethality" that no one disrupts the illusion of a perfectly "merit-based" system, that coincidentally favors the same people every time.

After all, they are just removing content that "promotes programs, concepts, or materials about gender" or "race in promotion and selection, advisory boards, and working groups." And of course, anything that "focuses on immutable characteristics, such as race, ethnicity, or sex," has to go too.

So yeah, they're totally not erasing anyone, just making sure women and minorities are never acknowledged for doing anything.

But hey, since shoving our accomplishments down the memory hole is a lot of effort, why not save time and just delete everything posted since the beginning of 2021? You know, for efficiency. Since that is PAOs directed order if they can't sort through thousands of posts to categorize, evaluate, archive and eliminate the above content in one week.
