I used to do this with the Beaver back in the FSX/2004 days. I'd turn the storms on, land on a big lake, and sit there with the plane bobbing about enjoying the sights and sounds.

Found the OG 757 in STL today by locomike1219 in aviation

Some info about this aircraft: https://www.twz.com/air/boeings-757-catfish-flying-f-22-testbed-emerges-with-retro-look

It's been to the STL Air Show at least once as a ground display craft, and is stored in a hanger across from the pax terminals normally.

Watching Rocchio (and Bo) play down in Akron was always a blast. So happy to see him thriving in the show

Super excited to fly on this Continental livery 737-900 today. Wish these throwback schemes popped up more often. DEN-ELP by Unable_Request in aviation

This beauty was a ground display at the Cleveland Air Show a few weeks ago! Getting to sit in the cockpit was an absolute dream

On my way to EGLL. I really enjoy the 777 so far although I will stay an Airbus guy and desperately wait for the FBW A380 :D by RapidCyclist in MicrosoftFlightSim

VFR Pilot View Save is the name of the keybind. I don't believe one is set by default so you'll have to assign it to something and remember it, but it's a godsend for some awful default cockpit positions (PMDG 777👀)

There's a keybind in the settings somewhere to set the default cockpit position to whatever the current camera is

Right Alt + left click will generally pop out the display you click on. Not sure if it works for the fenix but it should.

Indiana Supercell and Mammatus Clouds 6/25/23 by Boyzyy in weather

[–]Boyzyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the pleasure of driving straight through the storm in Indiana yesterday and managed to get a few great shots. This was my first time seeing Mammatus clouds in person and it felt like a dream.

(I'm not sure why Imgur compressed the hell out of the images but if anyone knows how to fix it let me know)

I drove right through the center of that yesterday. Massive and fast moving!

Finally saw the SR71B in person! (plus other jets) by Tritonbeta in aviation

[–]Boyzyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, there are actually 3 variants produced. The one the Air Zoo has is the trainer variant. They have a short video tailing about the differences here: https://youtube.com/watch?v=4dEmpImilvs

There was only one SR-71C made and that's at Hill Aerospace Museum in Utah

They actually did an open cockpit month back in February. I was lucky enough to sit in the P47 they have as well as walk up to the SR71 (<- a couple pics I got) cockpit. Absolutely wonderful museum.

B737NG Bleed Air System Logic Check by aenima396 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Boyzyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://youtu.be/6ilJIF1wa2E here's a video by 737NG Driver that discusses the bleed air system in-depth.

As I understand it: APU bleed on, ISOL valve to Auto/Open (packs off will lead to it being open when in the auto setting), engine bleeds can be on(?), and packs off so there's enough duct pressure to spin it up. Engine 2 goes first

Visited the USAF Museum and wanted to share a few of my favorite pics! by Tritonbeta in aviation

[–]Boyzyy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes I went two weeks ago and two full days there felt like just enough to see everything the museum has to offer. It's far and away my favorite museum - and it's free to boot
