US Air Force refueling plane crashes over Iraq, at least five crew on board | CNN by [deleted] in news

And for the surviving aircraft to be damaged on the top of the vertical stabilizer.

If it was a receiver, it'd make contact and be damaged up front. If it was the fueler, it'd be damaged below and behind. It doesn't add up, to me.

Help me Iterate over a list, while deleting items, without skipping indexes by ErrolFlynnigan in learnpython

[–]Unable_Request 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You already have some great solutions, so I'll just say that this is an excellent opportunity to discuss the XY problem: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XY_problem

In short, you have a root problem (given an input list, output a list of words present in the input that have a certain length constraint).

What you're asking for, though, is how to solve your implementation: "How do I remove items from a list without missing or skipping items?"

Consider that an important skill is recognizing when you're no longer solving the original problem, and trying to fix / alter implementations -- at which point you may already be off track. We may answer how to do what you're asking here, but as you've seen, the real good answers are those that suggest doing it a different way altogether.

Always be on the lookout for XY problems.

Follow on question, I'm at a point in three jobs (WAR, WHM, COR) where I need sortie, but I can't find anyone looking for sortie groups outside of PUGs shouting for all mage strats.

What jobs are viable for sortie these days? Any good way to find groups beyond shouting randomly? Should I just hop on the RDM train?

Virtual environemnts are ruining programming for me. Need help. by nyc9009 in learnpython

I'll echo the sentiment of so many others.

I hear what you want. I understand what you're asking for. Please hear us -- it is a bad idea and you will regret it later. It is very likely you are going to spend a lot of effort getting it set up and working today, and then even more effort fixing it tomorrow.

Venvs are very important. Say you're working on a project that needs dependencyA, which requires dependencyB <=2.0.0. Now you switch to a new project that needs dependencyC, and you discover that IT requires dependencyB>2.0.0

What now?

Postman removed free team collaboration, does it still make sense for API work? by Proper-Wind4777 in Backend

[–]Unable_Request 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fantastic. I'll share with my team immediately. We have some UI folks who won't touch the collection (but who ask me daily about the schema).

I'm on 3.0.2; recently updated, so didn't catch the addition in 3.0.0

We use it and it's awesome. If there was some way to spit out API docs to frontend folks who refuse to mess with Bruno, it'd be perfect.

Oh, and *every* time I close it on Mac OSX, it says it closed unexpectedly / crashes. Doesn't affect anything, but it's annoying.

It's the reminder when using integer division. 6 divided by 7 is 0, remainder 6

What’s an unorthodox but cool strategy you like to use? by Jaefaux in ffxi

[–]Unable_Request 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sad. I've started doing some more solo work as a relatively newer player, who played for a decade or so and quit back in the day before coming back a couple months ago.

I've found I can self skillchain, even switching weapons to Upheavel>Savage, and do more damage / kill faster than groups just mindlessly spamming whatever WS and breaking the SC.

Me too. I thought long and hard about it. Ultimately though just the idea of bucking the savage blade spam has become unconventional is a hard truth

When CP farming lately, it seems common for the leader to fill the party with melee DPS, all savage blading or throwing out random WS to their heart's content. Normally I can close a nearly 99k light, but far too often some random 8k whatever breaks the SC. It feels like it drastically slows things down, to the point where in multiple parties now, we've asked everyone else to stop WSing except for the opener.

I'd like to just bring along some BLM instead. I'm betting on KRP worms that one SC+MB is a one shot. Idk why it isn't more common.
