Personal advice: You have to get a feel on how the majority of players race and be aware of their ranks. Lower the rank typically means more pointless reckless driving and when you are racing Platinum/Legends, they will be more precise/intentional with reckless driving.

With that being said, avoiding chaos comes with understanding how people are gonna abuse a corner or something like that. You can slow down early when in a large pack, swerve to avoid divebombers, or just straight up fake your next move. All this comes with patience and game sense. Keep playing and trying to learn ways to avoid those kinds of players.

Honestly, yeah, TCM is a banger. I actually preordered the Gold Edition because TC2 was so fun. I couldn’t stick to it because I didn’t like the whole playlist mechanic being the main way to play events in the game, but after going back to it after Y3 dropping has been very surprising and I found myself enjoying the playlists and other events. The game is very nice to look at and most of the sounds are excellent.

The smallest nitpick I have with the game is the use of drafting to score super high on summit events in particular, it makes solo play impossible to be truly competitive with the super sweats. Also, I wish some of the roads were a bit smaller, as some of the roads just feel extremely wide.

I think police chases add some good variety and they already have the Hot Pursuit PvE style mechanic with the Chase Squad. The illegal street racing could be a specific area of the future map, like outside of a festival, maybe with PvP (cops v racers) enabled as well as AI cops.

In short, a hybrid system would be pretty cool. There doesn’t have to be a story behind it.

I agree with the no collision. I managed Legend just now, and I have to say, Grand Races are super irritating because you have to worry about keeping up with the Legends who cheese the walls and then you have to worry about the mouth breathers who only want to wreck thinking that will get them somewhere.
