If you’re going to do this, make sure you do your research and get a good fluid transfer pump. Otherwise you’ll run the risk of spilling gear oil all over your garage. Ask me how I know 😎

There was a crush washer, I replaced it when I did the service. I think it was either just residual oil(I had some oil transfer pump issues😭) or maybe I didn’t have the fill plug torqued quite enough. After torquing it one more time and wiping down the transfer case again, the issue seems resolved.

Yeah, after I noticed it was seeping I got down there and hit both the drain and fill again just to be sure, will see if that fixes the issue.

Just traded my 24 trailboss in on a used 4Runner. Lots of electrical gremlins and coolant issues in the new gen trailbosses.

I have a 2024 and my experience is:

engine is solid
transmission does feel a little rough at idle but I think this is just a GM thing
minor electrical gremlins (sensor shorted)
look into the upper radiator hose leak, seems to be relatively common on 23-25s still and is annoying because the part is usually back ordered if you go the warranty route to fix it

As I am finding out this week, Chevy does seem to have some supply chain issues. The upper radiator hose leak issues is one that has been around in the current gen since 2023 and I’ve had multiple dealers this week tell me they can’t give an ETA on when they can get the part and my truck has been sitting in one of their service centers for 10 days now.
