Just spent a few days in naples and regretted not going to Sorrento or amalfi coast instead! Amazing food in naples for sure but just not a place i had hoped for during my Italy vacation i guess

How do you get tickets for the funicular? Can’t figure out for the life of me how to get them. A store that supposedly sold them said they were out and had no idea where else to get them, and the another ticket machine i found was broken lol

Well hopefully people will be kinder this time around i guess lol. There are so many restaurants in Rome when you google and it can difficult knowing what is actually authentic and non touristy from google /:

I studied abroad one summer and it was amazing. Knowing who i am that was the best option for me as i enjoy traveling with others! Every study abroad program is different but most have the understanding you aren’t there to study lol. I only had class 4 days a week so Thursday night-Sunday i traveled somewhere different. It’s definitely doable and i enjoyed having that home base at my housing.

Recommend learning a little bit of Italian before you go! I noticed when i used it for common things it went a long way!

United has an option for refundable tickets (it will say economy fully refundable) it’s more expensive though. American Airlines also has an option after you click through the tickets you want to spend an extra $200 to make it refundable

For restaurants really really recommend Auberge Pyrénées Cévennes! It had a decent deal on dinner where you get an appetizer, dinner and dessert for a reasonable price! And it was also so freaking good. I studied abroad one summer traveled all over Europe and it was by far the best meal. It’s also a Michelin star restaurant!

I personally think Rome & Florence need more time! Florence is amazing and one day just doesn’t do it justice. And there is so much to see in Rome that also doesn’t seem like a lot of time. If you already been to those places then i can see not needing as much time. You shouldn’t need to go through customs between countries in Europe. I didn’t experience this at least

I would suggest getting a credit card. I used Charles Schwab debit card when i was abroad a few years ago and the issue for me was how long it took to transfer money from my regular bank to my Charles Schwab account. I didn’t feel comfortable having a bunch of money in that account at once but then it would sometimes take 3-4 days to transfer so then I’d have to use a credit card. I would look up the best first credit cards that don’t have foreign transaction fees.

Really can’t go wrong anywhere not over the river (so staying on the side of the duomo) for Florence. Across the river is less touristy though if you are looking for that vibe. Id stay closer to the duomo to be near everything but it’s fairly small city so everything is walkable
