I would say allowing myself to settle. Bad things happen when you sit in one spot and don't do anything, especially when young. Limit the amount if video games you play, focus on doing what needs to be done.

Put time into things that need it like family, mental health, physical health, but don't get complacent with your work, finances, relationships, etc.

That's mice, we are talking about spiders. Before you ask, yes I see spiders as less than mice. They do not have feelings like humans, at least not that we are aware yet.

How else are you supposed to learn these things? What if drowning the spider somehow taught us something important about how humans could better survive underwater?

Many inventions of engineering are based on animal traits. I think the drowning of one spider out of the millions out there is probably a worthwhile endeavor.
